Missing miles

A question for the experts here.

Just wondering if anyone else had a similar problem and figure out what was wrong.

I did not recieve credit from my recent LHR-YVR flight. I have tried to use the online credit but it keeps telling me the records do not match up.

I enter the ticket number 0149121861854
the date sept 18
and flight number AC 855, but no success.

Is it because the ticket also went to other destinations before, (for which I did receive credit).

I can always mail in my boarding pass but that may take a while and I have another trip YVR-BRU coming up soon and I want to recieve the Super SWU that I will get for passing 45000 before I go.

My boarding pass has my AC number on it, so I am wondering why the points were not automatically credited anyways?

Thanks in advance.

I usually just e-mail them through the Contact area on the Aeroplan site. I give them all the info: Ticket nbr, booking ref, dates. The miles usually get credited a couple days after. This has happened to me several times coming back from Europe.

I had the same problem two weeks ago LHR-YYZ. I phoned Aeroplan and a great agent entered the info manually and the miles posted the next day.

Thanks I'll call them!

If it's an electronic ticket on AC, they'll be able to credit the flights for you over the phone in most cases.

I too have had little success with this system and mentioned this more than once when emailing the SE desk to get a flight credited after trying though the web site.

I have not been able to detect any pattern or special circumstances that cause the online crediting not to work (NB. departures from some airports are excluded from online crediting as documented on the web site).

Any secrets we need to know about?

I talked some time ago to the internet support staff on this problem.

There is a glitch. The online system works if none of your fligths ticketed and flown are credited. If even one flight is credited, then the online system is not able to credit your missing Aeroplan miles on the remaining flights.

Then why don't they alert us to the fact that we cannot enter just one missing segment out of a multi-segment itinerary? The don't even have to admit it is a glitch.

I have tried the system at least three times without success. Now I know why!

It is such a pain to deal with AC/AP on these issues.

It is such a joy to deal with SPG. I was missing a hotel credit from the first week of this month. I e-mailed straight from the SPG site. I put in dates, place and dollar amount of stay. The confirmation of credit came back via e-mail in a few days. Painless.

I agree about starwood. I was missing some credits and they posted them asap as soon as I notified them. Since it was a service promise issue credit, they also sent an e-mail for follow-up purposes.

If only AC/AP could do the same in the customer service department.... ;)

Well, instead of returning an error when it can't "automatically credit", the form should automatically complete a report that is sent to an agent directly for manual check and crediting. At least then we don't have to sit there trying to enter the thing several times and call, etc. It may save a lot of hassle on both ends?
