Concierge Coincidence?

Today I took my second series of flights since qualifying for SE for the first time.

On my previous SE inaugural flights my status still showed as Elite since those flights had been booked when my status was still Elite and my aeroplan number was entered onto the PNR.

Today I just completed my first two flights with SE status showing on the manifest: a 3J/Zip flight YYJ-YYC-YWG.

When I arrived at the YYC MLL I was greeted and served by Debbie the on duty YYC concierge working alongside two other MLL desk staff.

On arrival at YWG another concierge was at the gate, smiled to me and said hello. I know that there were at least two other SE onboard that flight.

Prior to today I’ve only ever seen or encountered an AC Concierge once. Today flying as a SE on the manifest, I encountered them at every airport, with concierge service, that I travelled.

Was this just a coincidence or can I expect to see a lot more of the AC concierges?

Coincidence.

Concierges will greet everyone, not just S/E.

You happened to be at the right place at the right time so you ran into them.

As a S/E, if you need their assistance, you can always give them a ring in advance so no need to wait til you get to the airport.

Well interestingly, I just had my first encounters with the Concierges since going SE as well.

In YYZ I left my Blackberry in the car and was already through INS and security. MLL called the concierge (very nice lady) and she walked me back out through customs and security and then back through, avoiding all the lines. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/thumbsup.gif

Then, in ORD, the concierge was waiting as I got off the plane with a sign with my name on it. Welcomed me to ORD, directed me to my DFW gate (I am avoiding the direct Barbie flight, after all http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif ) and asked if I needed walking over.

Great service, for sure!

Simon
