FAs don't get paid until the door is closed, so whatever else may be happening in the corporate hive mind, they want that to happen.

Beaverton story on Air Canada incidents

According to The Beaverton, Air Canada has issued an apology statement to passengers forced to sit in vomit, affected by data breaches or "strapped to the wing and told to hold tight."

Be forewarned, it IS The Beaverton, so there's profanity galore. But still. Link here.

Edit: Ugh ... seems I can't post a direct link, presumably because there is an f-bomb in the URL. Try the Beaverton.com and look for "Air Canada Apology Statement". Sorry folks.

The true irony is, despite all this, many people still fly AC either willingly or unwillingly.

Unlike the AC crew, the Delta crew from the diarrhea flight handled their business appropriately. The Delta FAs tried cleaning it up and when it still wasn't satisfactory, they returned to Atlanta 2 hours into their flight. The Delta crew cleaned and ended up replacing the carpet in the aisle. The passengers reboarded and made their way to Barcelona. Although the passengers were delayed, there didn't seem to be much social media negativity from this incident.

Beaverton can be hit or miss, but that one nailed it.
This story is crazy. The fact that the knee jerk reaction of many here was that this had to have been made up says it all. Seems AC has a new incompetence amplifier which goes to 12. The old one only went to 11.
2 things that left me gob-smacked are entirely from a hygiene/communicable disease standpoint. In the last 4 years has AC not come up with basic training or standards around how to prevent nasty diseases getting transmitted? Page one, paragraph one : Body fluids are bad mkay".
Two, how is there no overarching medical standard or agency that should be coming down on AC like a ton of bricks. Maybe this was motion sickness, maybe it was Delta virus and you just infected dozens of people sitting around those seats by not sealing them up.
The other little tidbit I enjoyed was that they offered them extra barf bags. Was this because they were going to hurl the entire flight in that situation, or were they supposed to use them to dispose of any chunks they came across?

Keep in mind this happened in LAS so way more likely it was a PAX with the 'Vegas Flu' as opposed to the Delta virus.

Regardless, disgusting and clearly poorly handled by the crew on scene and AC subsequently.
