Ewwwww to all Air Canada.
My read of the story is that the crew told the captain that the passengers had abused them and that's what made him order their removal from the flight.

So rather than him thinking they need to be removed for complaining about the situation of the seats, he was possibly instead reacting to being told that they had been abusive to his crew.

Seem like the entire crew, from the Captain on down, was borderline incompetent and could not help scoring on their own goal. As stated above, a simple 'the flight is full, we understand this is not acceptable, we will rebook you on the next available flight, enjoy LAS on us for one last night and make sure you mail in for extra compensation' would have saved the day

What else could the FAs reply while staring at seats full of chunks? Boggles the mind but, sadly, I have no trouble believing it was handled that poorly. Probably got surly because the pax were upset and they were not using the utmost respect when addressing them. Give some (not the vast majority of AC FAs to be clear, but enough to be a problem) a little power as they say...

Truly embarrassing for the entire crew I'm surprised there's been no further comment from Air Canada, every passing day they are losing the narrative (perhaps already have...).
What I'm not surprised by is the inability for anyone (CSR, pilots, FA) to handle a situation requiring critical thought.

One incident on one day, but the stories keep surfacing. Talk about rolling thunder.

Almost the same thing happened to me on Swiss except the body fluids on my seat were, according to their aspect and smelling, coming from a lower part of some human body. Swiss upgraded me from business to first and gave me a 300CAD compensation.

as cynical as it sounds, unfortunately I don't think anything will come out from PHAC

I know that in a lot of certainly non North American Airlines, Captains are trained in how to handle difficult passengers and also to de escalate things. What makes it worse for me is that the male passengers who spoke in French was also a Police Officer from Montreal and the Captain did not believe him. That said he may not have told the Captain he is a Police Officer.
But surely disciplinary action has to be taken on both the Cabin Crew who reported falsely ( that the passenger was abusive) or the Captain for escalating it to such a level that they were thrown off the aircraft.

Who knows what the actual victims did. But if I see crumbs on the armrest/drink table when I board, I take pics. I might not do anything with them, but I also might Tweet (X?) them at the airline.

So I would certainly take photos of anything worse than crumbs. For vomit, I'd probably make a narrated video.

Seems to be that this shows where corporate culture is now positioned. Remember when the customer was right. Now the customer is almost always wrong. The narrative is hard to believe but I do.
Trying to maintain their on time record which isn’t much of a achievement at the moment.

What catastrophically bad judgment by the AC staff. Scolding paying customers like small children and threatening them with the no-fly list because they refused to sit IN VOMIT.

What kinds of terrible decisions will these employees make when faced with a really tough situation? The mind boggles.

AC flights - mess all the time.

Porter - spotless.

When do groomers even board anymore unless it's the end of night / repositioning flight?

Common thing I'm hearing "Is there any garbage in your seat back pocket". They never used to ask that.

Cut costs by having no groomers until later.

I believe AC is "investigating" the incident. These things take time after all.

Obviously another clear miss from an airline. I wouldn't be surprised though to find out that AC is trying to improve OTP, sending memos etc. to all crew to speed up boarding and get on the way. So even if pax need to be forced to sit in unsanitary seats or escorted off the plane, OTP must be king.

Or something like that.
