Introducing AC Wallet

From the iOS 5.34 release notes:

Introducing AC Wallet: Store refunds and credit balances directly in your Aeroplan account, making it easy to access a consolidated list of credits and transactions. You can use your AC Wallet balance for new bookings and travel option purchases in the app, and on aircanada.com. This feature will roll out over the coming weeks.
It's clearly not rolled out to me yet 😂

But... It's coming...

Cool, cool. Just as long as it doesn't run off the same software that tracks SQD.

Does said software ever make bank airline errors in your favor when it comes to SQD? If so, maybe having the wallet run on the same software isn't such a bad idea...

If my bank sometimes made errors in my favour, and sometimes made errors to my detriment, and I had to watch my balance like a hawk to determine whether I had the amount of money I was supposed to, I would call that a bad system overall.

Ugh.. AC needs to use its IT resources to fix other broken things rather than develop a new product that we know won't work correctly.

Showed up in the RN for Android as well

I wonder why Google/Samsung Wallet for BPs has not been added yet...seems strange

edit: This release forces you to re-do your Digital Profile

The release notes that Cow quoted in OP are from the Air Canada + Aeroplan iOS app v5.34. IOW, It's a feature that will be part of the AC mobile app.

I assume / hope that the new "Wallet" will also be available on the web site when it launches. There are some bookings that app just didn't cut it for me.

I was thinking the exact same thing, don't need another app to separate things out!

Just realised there was a slide on this 'wallet' at last month's Air Canada media briefing in Sydney, and I snapped photos of a bunch of relevant slides including that one, so this might be of interest...

Not really sure how this would help you with trips you're actually planning to take unless they're not booked yet and you have multiple other trips you're planning to cancel first.

The bit about

End issuance of non-expiring travel vouchers (ACTVs)
is interesting.

I use most of my travel vouchers now within 18 months but curious to see what the expiry defaults to in the future.
