Have you flown A220 and Max J? Max J is a pretty nice ride when sitting in the actual seat (not the lavs). It's as nice as J in the A220 with a bit extra room for the elbows. Yes Y is way nicer in the A220 but wouldn't go as far to say that it's nicer than J in the Max.
I would NOT want to try and sleep on a MAX. So the TATL and Hawaii flights seem to be cruel.
LH compensated for the lack of width on their legacy 737 variants by giving extra pitch. At least they tried.

Who chose the layout has no bearing on how individuals perceive its comfort. Whether it's the manufacturer, the customer, a pair of design twins from HGTV, or by FlyerTalk internet poll, it's irrelevant. The airplanes are equipped the way they are, and we can all judge & compare degrees of comfort accordingly.

Had the statement be composed as an opinion or anything other than the affirmative, then I would have responded accordingly - if at all.
My lulz was not directed at the personal opinion of comfort, that statement was superfluous to the object which was the aircraft design criteria, but true to form, your confirmation bias is exactly as expected, please do not change.

I responded to an affirmative statement about the design of the Max platform vs a (barely) competing aircraft platform - an affirmative statement that was categorically false and therefore open to my reaction of so much lulz.

If somebody is more comfortable in an economy seat on an A220 vs a J seat on a 737Max, then in the immortal words of Ms Lennox OBE, who are we to disagree?
I'm not sure what lulz means; must be an advanced engineering term I'm unaware of.

Haven’t read the whole thread so I apologize if this has been reported previously.
For the past few months I’ve been flying weekly on both the AC 737 and A220. Currently I’m on fin 503, in a middle seat. The seat padding is decent, but on both the aisle and window seats the seat cushion is caved in quite a bit and it makes for a very uncomfortable flight. In fact I just got off an A220 that had the seat cushion extremely caved in, not exactly pleasant...
I’m just very surprised that with such low usage the seat cushions are already so caved in... kinda sad!

Mco to yyz 737 max 8 seat selection
Finally visiting my daughter in Florida after over 18 months now the return quarantine is over in Toronto using my flight passes finally also
what are the better economy seats for one passenger best leg room least chance of being near people (hahahaha) are the first few rows of economy a bit better like the 767 used to be
likely picking window seat
thanks

Flight is under 3 hours as IIRC, people are everywhere - even when you're not looking and the wiki in this thread may help you. Buried in the same thread are photos some of us took from our seats. I liked 19A. While it had extra legroom, I chose it for the wingporn. ✈️
In the wiki there are 2 links to seat and other cabin photos.

Regarding washrooms, my rowmate got up to use the lav, so I figured I might as well go since he was out of his seat anyway, but when I reached the back, I did a double take and asked myself, "Where did he go?". I couldn't believe there were 2 lavs - let alone one. Narrow as heck, but I was able to pirouette like a ballerina and wash my hands.

I really hate the useless air vents on this aircraft, especially after having to speed walk across the idiotic mess that is YYC.
In other news, look at this seat falling apart. Looking around, I see a few of them starting to come apart like that. Looking around, I see a bunch of others that are coming apart, although less drastically, on the sides or the top. These planes are not that old, they shouldn't be showing this kind of wear and tear.

I flew 737 max in Y for the first time recently in the bulkhead and it’s awful. How is that a preferred seat??? No legroom at all. I’m short and it was worse than any economy flight I’ve ever taken.
Garbage
My legs are legit 90 degrees …
