World Travel Pass

I have been waiting to see if AC would offer a premium fare Flight Pass at this time of year as they had been doing pre-Covid. Well, they have, but it wasn't worth the wait. Pretty eye-watering: Ontario prices for the 1 person, 4 credit passes are $6,802 for NA, $12,980 for Europe/N Africa, and $31,580 (!) for Worldwide. 2 person, 8 credit passes are double. No East/West versions.

Might be useful for some, but I'll pass.

Cringe to say it but if you look at international J prices from AC these days it is almost a bargain... but I too will pass.

Just received an email about this...

Says it includes:
Exclusive lounge access

Added benefits
Choose your seat for free ahead of time, plus get exclusive access to Air Canada lounges.

Wonder how that works.. exclusive access, eh?

Ron.

The email didn't include prices, so I tried to open the link.

Didn't work in Firefox, so I tried in Safari.

Didn't work in Safari, so I tried in Chrome.

Didn't work in Chrome, so I gave up.

Solid salespersonship, AC.

Has Air Canada lost their minds?

Last time I bought the 4 credits for Asia travel it was close to $11K. Now its $31K . More than $7,500 per leg.

Pass.

With a wee bit of timing, can get a seat to New Zealand for half of the Pass price
Guess this for people who don't spend their own money

Exclusive? Perhaps they kick everyone else out and you get the lounge to yourself. At the prices those passes sell for, that should be the offer

I would not be surprised if the number of people buying flight passes that don't have "rouge" or "sun" in the name, and not expensing them or writing them off, is in the dozens (or hundreds).

But otherwise, yes, this is an extremely expensive FP.

On a positive note this overpriced pass offers the quickest path to SE renewal if you also have a premium CC. With 100K rolled over you can buy this pass and book 2 short domestic round trips for Jan 1st and voila you have SE status for another year...

It says Goose Bay is on the city list, but when I preview flight availabilities for YYR-BNE I see no flights available.

I have a complex destination wedding with ceremonies and banquets starting in Goose Bay and ending in Brisbane three days later, on four consecutive Tuesdays in January.

I guess I will have to just shell out the $60,000 for these flights.
