I remember watching live TV on a WS flight back in 2011, yet AC's press release claims they're the only Canadian carrier to offer this. Does WS no longer offer live TV?

Air Canada today announced it has launched Live TV on select aircraft and domestic routes, becoming the only Canadian carrier to offer customers the ability to cheer on their favourite sports teams by watching global sporting events in real time or watch live national news onboard a flight.

I would be interested in knowing the quality of the feed from those who have experienced it so far. Is it similar quality to watching a movie on AC or a lower quality? Also, does the feed stop and restart "live" when FA's make announcements to fasten your seatbelts, etc (such that you might miss an important part of a game if watching live sport)?

Having my flight the Saturday swapped to 7M8. Am I out of luck? Does that mean I cannot watch my beloved Canada team in the World Cup? (Tears)

Had it on my flight yesterday (on 773), watched the game together with many others that I could see.

The feed was largely stable, a few short dropouts (with a gogo-branded apology screen appearing), but nothing overly concerning. The quality was pretty much the same as watching a movie. On-board announcements are interrupting the feed, but not pausing it. Also watched briefly both the English and French news channels - both of which have clocks as part of their screen graphics, so could see that the feed itself is between 1 and 2 minutes behind - not quite live.

Also, some cheers during the game were definitely not silent

Is it streaming iptv or is it satellite? Just wondering if everyone's feed would be synced lol.
