Quick and easy. Had to update my Avis account details but the status match worked with the new info.

Yeah, I could understand if it was something like status or CC gets X, but if you have both, you get Y.

But it does seem to be yet another incentive to get the card.

Rented from Avis avis 10 or so extra times in 2019 to qualify for preferred plus. Then a week later I realized founders club gave free avis preferred plus.
Now, Air Canada gives the next higher tier for free, which still doesn't give airport delivery or driveback.

Also--this offer discriminates against Super Elites below the legal driving age

Don't be ridiculous, there's no SEs under the legal driving age. That's as unlikely as someone getting status without actually flying.

That’s “only” 5 yearly trips to DXB in paid J. Or 3-4 trips to Australia, depending on the point of origin in NA. Surely there are a couple hundred families sustaining that? Kind of crazy to spend $25k+ yearly on AC flights (after tax) for a kid who might take said flights in diapers, but I’m sure there are a handful that really don’t care.

I can think of at least two current or former underage consistent SE's. One's parent has posted on this thread and the other is a concert pianist who started quite young.

(Although you are joking here...)

I'm sure there are SE*MM under the age of 12.

Simply having parents living cross country from each other could do it.

Yes. There was a young SE that was often a top finisher in the Earn Your Wings contest.

Nice unexpected bump up in status -- could be unexpected as I wasn't paying attention. took longer for me to find my AVIS #s than to complete the sign up.

Now to try it out

Personally rental car status is the most useless "perk" to me. I almost never want an "upgrade" in category, due to increase gas consumption or physical size (and thereby increased awkwardness in parking on the rare occasions I've rented near civilization). And yes, several of you have heard my rants there.

Give me a price reduction on your LOWEST category any day.
