7M8 J or 787 PY?
 

…on an LAX-YYZ hop. 737 option costs a few more points, but is daytime. 787 is redeye. 787 J is too expensive and eUps might not be an option.

c) book 7M8 J and same day change to 787 J (day of travel)

Isn’t 7M8 J actually PY?

I have a paid J booking later this summer with a leg on a 7M8 and I am indeed in booking class “O” and PY cabin.

I believe 7M8 is sold as J on domestic/transborder, but sold as PY on international

Makes sense. My 7M8 leg is the short YHZ to LHR hop!

I would take 7M8 daytime J over a 787 J red-eye on that route.

+1. Did the SFO-YYZ 787 redeye in J one time ever. Too short for sleep, endless regret, never again. LAX basically the same. Can't imagine in PY.

Book 7M8, do free SDC if there's a daytime 787 you can swap to on day of departure.

7M8 J and 787 PY are basically the same thing, so the only real difference is schedule. Do the daytime flight, as others have noted the redeye is too short for much more than a catnap.

Yeah, another vote for "the real question here is whether you want to fly a redeye".

I did this flight recently, and as much as I do not the 7M8, it was very pleasant.
Flight time was sub 5.5hrs. Only emplaning/deplaning 170 pax instead of 260+ which takes less time, and means less people in customs/border control/baggage hall.
