Lounge access flying AC from SYD

I'm flying out of SYD on AC34 in J this week and wanted to see if anyone knows the lounge situation?

1140 departure, with the NZ lounge closed and the SQ lounge only open between 0600 and 0900, are AC providing access to another lounge?

Amex has a lounge there if you have a platinum card. You would have to ask on checkin.

Apparently it is.

Hopefully it re-opens when I fly there in April

until NZ opens its borders a lot more I don’t expect AIr NZ to open the lounge. It would be nice if AC would be proactive and negotiate something else but easier and cheaper to deflect.

I would imagine choice is limited, especially with even Australia just re-opening

More time to spend $ at SYD duty free

best SYD lounge option?

Looks like Air New Zealand still has their international lounge closed, so any thoughts on best SYD lounge? Options would be: SilverKris Business, Qantas Business or Amex. Priorities are good food and small crowds.

Air NZ is open, I believe it opens at 8am these days.

Beside it is SQ which is a nice lounge too (ANZ is better IMO)

That said...lately 34 has been leaving closer to the QF side of operations. There is a PP lounge not too far away (near the McDonalds) that will take AC BPs

I like the walk before a 15 hour flight, so I make my way over to ANZs (after my wine purchases).

From what I have read the Air NZ SYD lounge is now open againCrowds will depend on the flight leaving when you are there. A lot of flights depart about the same time as AC34How would you get access to the QF(oneworld) lounge?

Nice to see ANZ might be back open; I've heard that's the best bet. I was going by the Star Alliance site, but I'm sure the airline's own site is more up to date.

Now to figure out if ANZ is better than the Amex lounge. It's not techinically a Centurion, but the pics look promising!

I have always found the non Centurion Amex lounges to be very average. No different than a PP lounge, really

On May 24, 2022, both Air NZ and SQ lounges at SYD were open, and they're located next to one another. We only used the SQ lounge.

I used the NZ lounge on Sunday and it was open with full buffet breakfast offering. I was making an airside transfer so had to kick my heels until around 06.30 before it opened (I arrived on the BA at 05.10).
Arriving early does allow you to choose a good seat as it fills up quickly.
SQ lounge offers some tasty Asian offerings (especially at lunch time) but I prefer the NZ breakfast options.
