Just noticed this has been inserted into the T&C of the Sun PassPeak Travel Period
- A Peak Travel Period applies between December 20 to December 23 and January 5 to January 9 inclusive. When a travel date is selected within a Peak Period, a Fare Premium will be charged at time of booking confirmation. The Fare Premium is non-refundable and subject to change at any time.

Experienced exactly this. Was banking on my M fare to fly on 12/22. Attempted to book on 12/20 and there was no M available. I had to book Latitude for $1,100. Thankfully, I kept checking, and M fare opened the next day!

I purchased a sun pass very late in December and my T&C do not have this clause. I would expect not to be bound to the new rules when using that pass.

Careful what you wish for... Presumably the idea is for flight passes to be at a discount to regular prices .... but that can mean two things. Either the flight pass prices should drop or they expect the regular flight prices to go up....

Now noticing significant price increases in the regional passes - Ontario regional in flex in particular: the 10 credit has gone from just over $3k to over $4,500 and the 30 credit pass (proportionally, I assume) has gone from under $10k to $13.5k Ouch.
This seems to be quite recent - there was a flight pass promo on until February 9 with the "old prices".

I have purchased the Florida Plus pass numerous times for Christmas and March Break. With the increase and the premium add on, UA/AA/DL from BUF is now a way cheaper option.

For those flying out of YVR, and assuming the destination cities are available with both the 'Florida Plus' and 'Romantic Getaway' flight passes, the latter appears to be a relative bargain.
Florida Plus (8 credits)
ex-YVR: $5,678 / 2 = $2,839
ex-YYZ: $4,510 / 2 = $2,255
Romantic Getaway (4 credits)
ex-YVR: $2,394
ex-YYZ: $2,576

And the Rapidair flight passes also increased
10 Flex Credits : $4,339 from $2,994 +45%
Flex 3 months $3,156 from $2,441 +29%
Flex 6 months $3,005 from $2,319 +30%
I cannot believe they decided to increase this specific pass (YYZ , YTZ, YOW, YUL) just a few days after Porter launched their YYZ - YUL and other lines, that's a good incentive to switch on this route...

Just saw a huge increase in the Western Commuter too. I almost bought one two days ago, now it's up 30-50%. Too bad for me. Anyway with these huge increases, plus the decrease in frequency on these routes, this might seriously push me away from AC. I loved the flight passes for years, but the ones I buy aren't really a deal anymore.
Western Commuter 10 credit Flex was around 2.9k, now 4.1k. Latitude was 4k, now 6.1k!
I don't want to jinx things, but it seems like they are doing this in phases. I think we will see all the passes way up in price in the next 6 months.

Buy one if you see one that works
Flight pass price increases continue. Adding a data point: bought Maritimes lattitude (10 credits) on Jan 28th. $5243. Same pass today: $7898. That's a 50% increase!
No argument that AC can change their pricing as they see fit. Just saying if you see one that will work, don't hesitate.

Discovered last night that the Vancouver Commuter Pass has vanished. Was $2450/10 credits anywhere in BC to/from YVR, now there's just the BC Commuter, which at $3979/10 is no longer a good deal if you live in YVR. Maybe it still works for those who want to fly Nanaimo to Castlegar.

I'm not sure I want to start the 12 month clock before I'm ready to take the first flight.
An increase would suck, but letting two credits expire (or using them for no reason) would also be an effective price increase.
