What is the Air Canada Chauffer Service?

AC offers selected passengers rides from the domestic portion of the terminal to the international terminal, when they're connecting to a flight in international business class, a.k.a. Signature Class. The vehicles are provided by Porsche.

If you are selected for the service, you will be met by a concierge at the gate/on the jetbridge of your arriving domestic flight, and escorted to the vehicle. You will then be driven to the international departures area.

This service was first offered in 2015, until being suspended due to COVID in 2020, and previously used BMW vehicles. The previous thread is here.

Where is the service offered?

YYZ and YVR.

Who, exactly, is eligible?

According to the AC Signature Service page: "Customers originally booked and ticketed in Air Canada Signature Class (J, C, D, Z or P class) or on Aeroplan Business Class Flexible Reward, with a connection via Toronto Pearson International Airport or Vancouver International Airport to Europe, Asia, South America, Australia or New Zealand on an Air Canada-operated flight. Subject to availability."

These are the same rules that apply to accessing the Signature Suite.

The chauffeur service is only available on connections from domestic flights (i.e. within Canada) to international flights (destinations described above). It is not available if connecting to or from the US, from another international flight, or from international to domestic.

How do I make sure I get the chauffer service? Can I reserve it?

You can't. Even if you're eligible, there are no guarantees that you'll get it.

The "temporarily suspended" notice is gone, and the description has been updated to say Porsche instead of BMW.

False alarm it seems... Back to "Our Chauffeur Service will be temporarily suspended until further notice."

Electric and Plugin hybrid Porsche services are starting in YYZ today on a 'surprise & delight basis', with services coming to YVR later in the year.

If I'm on a paid J ticket and my partner is on an award ticket (not full flex J) will they refuse to drive the other person?

In theory, yes. In practice, almost for sure not, unless there are no seats left in the car. If the car would otherwise be reserved for you only, theyd probably take both of you.

When I used the previous service in July of 2019 I was paired with a random other passenger (who was going onto the same international flight as me though Im not sure that mattered.)

So its possible the car wouldnt have space for a pax on a different PNR travelling with someone who is eligible for the service.

Hoping that this will be available for us in early June. Three of us travelling YVR-YYZ-LIS. All in paid business, but each in a separate reservation.

In 2018 or 2019 my wife and I were both in paid J and were met at our inbound gate for a ride over to the international terminal. The person meeting us was only looking for my wife but as I was there I was allowed along for the ride. We were both on the same PNR so not sure why only she was selected. It was kind of fun to see the airport from a different angle, but another time Id likely give it a pass. Walking is good!

I'm going to be visiting the signature suite for the first time this summer and had a quick question about the chauffeur service. I'll be flying into YYZ from YXU on a Dash 8 and then on to Europe. Will I be eligible for the chauffer service even if the YXU-YYZ leg is in economy because the Dash 8 doesn't have business? If so, do I need to do anything to reserve it?
