FlyerTalk Forums Expert How-Tos and Guides
Last edit by: tcook052
This new annual thread has been carved out of the previous thread in an effort to reduce the number of megathreads on the AC forum. For those interested previous versions are the original 2004 - 2014 thread , 2015 edition, 2016 edition , 2017 edition, 2018 edition, 2019 edition, 2020 edition and 2021 edition.

The original thread started by accident but quickly became a popular place to come and discuss off topic things such as hockey, new movies, or almost anything that wouldn't fit into existing AC forum threads. Air Canada or Aeroplan topics such as flight feedback, in-flight services issues, status or mileage earning/redemption are all topics that should go into existing AC forum threads so others can benefit from this information. Topics about hotels or airlines and/or their loyalty programs, destinations, in-flight travel tech. or anything best discussed elsewhere on FT may be relocated to that forum as this thread isn't meant to import travel topics to this forum that are better discussed on other forums. FT is an amazingly diverse and large community so members are encouraged to seek out all of its resources.

While the conversation is more relaxed as it would be in a lounge that doesn't mean however that the FT rules don't apply here as they definitely do so please refrain from controversial topics such as politics or religion, avoid profanities and treat other lounge patrons with the same respect you expect.

Yes, looking at South terminal from the Richmond dyke trail across the Fraser. There is better plane spotting area on the approach to YVR main from No2 road/Russ Baker but the platform extending out to the river here is much more relaxing. Even shows on Google maps. Nicer casual bike ride too, just not challenging.

Tough call.

I'd have to defer to our omnipotent Moderator on that one.

So for those of us who wear iron rings and have needed to up- or down-size them, how did you go about getting a new one? Did you return the incorrectly-sized one or just claim to have lost it and bought a new one at the right size?

I lost mine at one point (well, I know it's at the bottom of Acapulco Bay somewhere!), and just got a replacement. It was not expensive.

Camp 1 is the easiest. After having a cheque returned to me as undeliverable to whatever the Waterloo camp was, a colleague told me his girlfriend has lost hers a bunch. Camp 1 lets you pay and order online. Delivery to SF was quick.

I don't think this is just an Ontario thing? I think they recognize all schools?

Yeah, its not really a question of cost, I was more concerned about whether I should bother with exchanging it or just claiming the wrong-sized one was lost and buy a replacement. The language seems to suggest that ill-fitting rings are to be exchanged, but yeah, it seems like more hassle than its worth for $25.

Thanks!

Isn't the answer "use all the training required to justify such a ring to resize it yourself at home"?

AC doesn't fly to CAM9, so isn't the whole thing off topic to the AC forum?

So can I start calling myself a financial engineer and come up with some jewelry to show off my prowess?

Anyone can get rich, but it takes a financial engineer to barely get rich?

Only if you make said jewelry out of the rubble of something one of your predecessors destroyed by doing their job badly.
