I am looking at flights between YYZ and OGG January 15-22, 2022. For some reason, the direct flights on those days have disappeared from AC.com and when I pull them on EF all classes are showing 0 seats for sale despite the flights not seemingly being full (there was lots of space just days ago and seat map is open in all classes (I know, not a TRUE indication but still). Anyone know why these flights may be getting proactively blocked off from new bookings?

AC 531 YYZ: 01/15/22 5:10 PM OGG - 01/15/22 10:14 PM 789

This is going to be a fun one...my flight to HUX in early January, which has been zeroed out for 2 weeks, just got downgauged from a Rouge 321 to the Rouge 319, which is a reduction of 60 Y seats. Maybe this was a planned RM move, and they zeroed out well in advance of the downgauge, but long experience with AC has taught me this is likely not the case, and they will be dealing with a massive overbook on day of departure, to a destination where they offer service twice weekly. Some fun times ahead...

I'll have my offer of $1,500 in VDB cash, plus a new route (in J of course) through MEX all mapped out...

I wouldn't count on it.

A while back, they downgauged "all" the noon SFO-YYZ from 789 to 223, making mine on December 18th overbooked by ~25.

Then they selectively upgauged certain flights to a 7M8, fixing that problem.

I think the system is doing large sweeps of gauge changes, and then people are fixing the big problems sometime later.

Yeah, maybe it will gauge back up. There’s no way to shift excess over to other flights, as their simply aren’t any. Maybe I’ll luck out, and they’ll have to upgauge to mainline, and my e-up from the FP booking will clear.

Who am I kidding? I’m not that lucky…

I can't book it anymore for the rest of January....
Although it is still showing in ExpertFlyer on the timetable, it appears the flights have been zeroed out until February 12 (ie: first flight with seats is Feb. 12)

Such a bummer. I booked a weeklong trip in part because of the non-stop

777-300 upgrading AC 832/833 YUL-BRU makes sense if they don't want to operate the YYZ flight since they only were planning so start it in may 2020 with the 787-8 after SN changed there 330 to YUL and since they don't seem to be planning a comeback yet. nice seeing the longer flights to the west getting rid of the 320's looks like they will just be used for even shorter hops like YYZ-YOW

I fly YEG - YUL alot and there's only 1 direct a day.

Pre COVID there used to be at least 2, sometimes 3. Anyone know if there's any talk of increasing routes like these or is it 'wait and see what traffic volume does and how AC responds' kind of scenario?

Anyone see any good indicators of increasing (domestic) flight routes lately?

Just a comparison of one route/direction: dates in January, June and November 2021

YVR-HKG AC7 with Crew Change in ICN

For the AC7 flight from YVR to HKG which stops in ICN. How much time do passengers have off the aircraft in ICN? Do passengers get to roam around the airport?

This may be the source of OP's question. I received the same note when booking AC7 the other day.

Do you get to get off the plane in ICN? If so, how long?

@loun80

Some additional info for you where you can calculate how much time AC 8 is on the ground in ICN.

This is from AC's Flight Status page for the Nov 21 AC 8. You can see what time it arrived in ICN from HKG and then what time it departed ICN for YVR.

This is from FR24. Again, you can see all of the November AC 8 flights so far, what time they arrived in ICN and then departed ICN for YVR.
