I'm placing AC on notice
So, two weeks ago I have received an email that my flights are cancelled some 10 hours before departure. Today, I've received an email saying that my flight was cancelled after the first flight. I have paid for a window seat and I received a middle seat on the new flight. AC's agent wasn't able to get me a window seat and she wasn't willing to upgrade me. Well, it is enough. If something like this happens again, I'm switching to WS in Canada and DL in USA.
Delta, here I come.

If you think that doesn't happen on every airline... I've had this in paid J on several. In Y on pretty much every airline I've ever flown Y on. It happens.
They're not going to kick someone else out of the seat they selected for you.
You should be entitled to something like a $5 refund or whatever the difference between window and middle was on your flight, though I suspect if you're polite they'll just refund the entire seat selection fee.

As Cow said, if you think AC is the only airline that has problems with flight interruptions, you're going to LOVE connecting through Atlanta.

IMO whats reasonable here is to avoid AC when there is a good alternative, and adjust expectations. If I choose to fly AC but expect NH level service then the problem is on me.
I stopped flying AC internationally as I can find better alternatives to the places I travel. Luckily for places I travel often, I can always find multiple carriers offering much more competitive product at a price range that I can afford. I have reduced NA travels as there simply arent that many good options, and I am no longer as loyal to AC as I used to be.

With all due respect to OP @WildcatYXU who posted for a reason - if not his perfectly reasonable annoyance at AC (and perhaps also for some FT therapy), it's a post like this one from @Orange County Commuter that reminds me why I love these threads.

Im serious theres a guy over on the Delta forum
whos announced to the world hes putting Delta on pause and flying other options.
This is just the way it works, person a leaves airline a and goes to airline b, person b leaves airline b and goes to airline c, persons c leaves airline c and goes to airline a. Were all looking for the perfect airline and it doesnt actually exist (unless maybe youre flying only to Asia, there are a couple of good options)
the only thing I really dont understand is why we think we need to make these public service announcements. I quit flying one airline 20 years ago. Ive never bother to tell them and I dont think theyve noticed.

People announce things when they are frustrated and know that they can say such on the forum where others may understand or agree.

They range from "no big deal" to wasting hours of my time and not offering me advertised services that I've paid for. But none are "ridiculous".
