Europe and Middle East & India Flight Pass Now Allow Partner Metal

Well, this interesting - FP credits usable on partner flights:

Very interesting! I wonder how fares will map? E.g., will Latitude Y and Flex M map to something equally high on United and Lufthansa?

Yeah, that's one thing that jumped to mind for me too.

Does this apply to the 'Gift of Travel - Europe' flight passes sold back in the late fall of 2020? On the drop down menu I can only see the list of Air Canada cities and am only offered Air Canada flight options. Are those of you with 'regular' flight passes already able to see availability of options on Lufthansa or United metal ?

Wow, pretty big value add.

Have the prices for these FPs gone up as a result?

This is a pretty significant enhancement. And very unexpected.

Yes, lots of partner airline options are shown for every destination I tried.

I presume that this is only possible because of the TATL JV?

This is a positive change. The only downside would be the inability to use eUpgrades on partner flights. That makes the latitude flight pass no more valuable as they can't be upgraded at booking on partner carriers.

And it's a shame it requires the codeshare, because you can't even SAUA.

I'd see this as being useful to get somewhere like DBV. Fly AC to Germany, then LH to your actual destination. Upgrade the longhaul.

Interesting trade off right now - I can use my Lat pass for direct YYZ-CDG on LH, but I can't upgrade. I sleep well on the overnight, so maybe that is good on the way there, but on the way home during the day, J is worth a lot to me.

Need the AC YYZ-CDG direct to get operational again!

Thanks After Burner! Glad for you and other Flight Pass Holders (really). Sucks for my Gift of Travel Flight Pass which does not seem to allow for this new feature of adding a connection on partner metal. But I do like that the GOTFP provides extra options to nominate travelers..

Why would it matter - you still only get 50% miles with LH on aeroplan and can't upgrade because it is only valid on AC codeshares. Only way I see this making a real difference is if you were to switch credit to say UA or M&M after booking.

I was excited to see this long overdue actual enhancement but equally bummed out if it doesn't apply to the Europe version of the Gift of Travel pass.

Would've been nice to have this enhancement in the past when I did my weekly Euro trips, but hey, better late than never.

I wouldn't be shocked if the prices went up because of this.

Or if they introduce AC-only and TATL-JV FPs at different prices.
Adam Smith likes this.

For the cities on this flight pass, I do not see Berlin as an option?
is that an oversight, or intentional?
