AC Employee Discount and Status?

Just curious if AC employee fares count towards status or lifetime status?

I believe if it is standby the answer is no, however if it is one of the discount codes then it does...

I was under the impression it was only the 10% employee discount codes, but not the higher ones.

I guess it does make sense for the standby. Which discount code are you referring to? Like for any cash fares?

There are various discount codes for employees?

Why don't you tell us what you mean by "employee fares" and then we can more easily answer the question.

The 20% Go AC family discount codes immediately blank out the FFP field after inputted the codes, even don't know how you can collect points right from the beginning.

I meant the employee discount code. I know someone who works at AC that's offering to give me the code, but doesn't know anything whether the code will earn miles or status if I use it.

The 10% codes allow it, the higher ones do not.

That's disappointing! Maybe not so keen to use it now unless the saving is substantial. I've been told it's 20% off only for international. Domestic is apparently only 10% off.

Thanks Cow! I'm guessing I won't be able to use it for international then? I was told it's 20% for international. Not sure if 10% exist and still allow me to earn miles and lifetime status. I was told this morning that the discount is for the base fare only. So I'm guessing the total discount in the end will be less than 10%? You seem to know this very well! I was surprised my friend doesn't really know the answer to this.

The 10% codes can be used on all markets.

I haven't looked into the higher ones because I want my SQM.

Bear in mind that if a FA looks at you the wrong way, it's usually pretty easy to get a 15+ from AC that does permit earnings.

I want my SQM, lifetime miles, and etc as well. That's why the 20% doesn't mean anything to me anymore. She definitely got me very excited and you guys dampen things a bit!

Not sure what you mean with this easy method to get a 15% discount.

Is it 10% off any fare? Thought it was higher for the premium cabins and maybe that is what the OP is referring too. Friends and family discount.

I don't know. My emails don't even mention 10%. It says it's valid on all markets, but I used them on North American itineraries, and received 10% off.
