New Bermuda terminal - impact on Air Canada
The sad looking old BDA airport is no more, and Air Canada flew for the first time to the controversial new airport on Friday. The airport looks infinitely better than the old one, and if the information I received from check-in staff is correct the best news is that we will now have access to a Priority Pass lounge, unlike the old airport where there was only a British Airways lounge which anyway was always closed at the time of the AC flight in the afternoon. The lounge is not open yet but we can see its future location, see bottom right of map. Since the USA-bound flights are from the left part of the airport (after USA immigration clearance) and separate from the Toronto+London bound flights on the right, that means the lounge will only be used by BA, AC, and possibly WestJet passengers.

This thread is borderline off topic from the get-go, but the information on lounge access is useful for those flying AC, so I'll leave it up for now.
Please ensure any posts are specific to AC. General discussion of the new terminal, controversy surrounding its construction, etc belongs in another forum on FT or other websites entirely.

Thanks for sharing!
Let's hope AC J pax and status pax will be able to access the lounge as a contract lounge.
So will there be separate security check points for US bound and non-US flights (incl. AC)?

So that would be one drawback of flying AC from the new airport: there could be longer queues because AC passengers will be mixed up at security with USA-bound passengers.
