No OLCI - Document verification?

Hi,

Is it still possible to check in online and go straight to the gate for domestic or international departure at YYZ?

I read that for PR card holders you have to queue and have your documents verified at the counter before going through the security.

Or is this only for international departures?

For a domestic flight, there's no document verification. You just need to present government-issued photo ID at the gate to match your name and face to the name on the BP. That document is not registered in advance.

Thank you. Is the verification required in YYZ if you have a domestic connection for an international destination (for example, YYZ-YVR-HKG) or would it be done in YVR? Trying to see how much time in advance I should arrive at the airport.

Documents for international travel will generally be verified at both origin and the international departure point. That is to avoid having people stranded mid-journey when they must be denied boarding at the itnernational departure.

I suppose you can't skip the final flight then (unless you're allowed to visit the final destination).

By the way, OZtrav, welcome to FT :)

No, you can't use an international destination to do hidden-city ticketing unless you're entitled to enter the country of the final destination. If you have an international itinerary (including to the US), you can't board your first flight until the doc check is cleared at your origin.
