What are the Dreamliner domestic routes

I'm hoping to plan a trip during Thanksgiving. Just want to see if I could fly signature class on a route.

YYC-YYZ you can usually get an upgrade to PE for $165-180!

how does the J on the 787 compare with the J in A330? (in another thread i found a comparison between new(er) A330 J vs old pre-update but didn't find a thread on direct comparison.

Depends which 330. Some have the old 1-1-1 open pod layout, others have been updated to the new Signature pod in 1-2-1.

IIRC all of the ex-SQ aircraft have now been updated, so that 2-2-2 layout no longer exists.

Not all the ex-SQ fins been retrofitted/updated yet. 3 are in the cabin cargo config right now, the rest of the 2-2-2 layout fins are in storage.

But yes the current active fins flying are either the old pods 1-1-1 or the new pods 1-2-1 on FIN934 and FIN942 usually doing YUL/YVR.

The width of the J seat on the reconfigured A330's is narrower than the 787 which is in turn narrower than the 777. So the width of the seat is 777>787>A330. The A330 J seat has much less storage and the magazine holder has been relocated. The seat also has a 3 point seat belt instead of an airbag in the seatbelt. The bins are also much smaller than on the Boeing aircraft.

I have had 2 flights on the reconfigured birds (FINS 934 and 942). 942 has the newer Airbus bins. The lavs have all been redone and are quite nice. Overall it was a nice ride and when all of them are refurbished they will be almost as nice as the Boeing wide bodies.

I notice AC has downgraded many YYZ/YUL flights to YYC/YVR from 787/A330 to narrowbodies A319/A321. I was booking a few flights in November & December as flying across the country I rather be a bit more comfortable in J on a widebody however my 787 & 330 flights are now A321 & A320.

This weekend I am even on an A319 YOW-YVR which will be no fun

I don't believe YOW-YVR has ever been scheduled on a 777/787, depending on load and time of year it regularly cycles between the 319/20/21 family, and I've done it in a 767 a couple of times.

Yes you are correct, I usually fly through YUL & YYZ, for the same money why not pick up another 250 AP each way and fly on a more comfy aircraft, especially when in J

This Saturday its a classic AP reward so quick and direct route, but boring!

Yeah, they even did that to me last week on ~24 hours' notice. Subbed out a 788 YYZ-YYC for a 321. Normally I might be willing to take a slightly earlier or later flight to get back in to a pod, but the current meagre flight schedule rendered that impractical.
