A new chef for economy????
I have not seen this mentioned elsewhere:
https://aircanada.mediaroom.com/2020...n-to-the-Skies
Seems they found a chef willing to be associated with economy meals?

Not that I travel much international in Y, but I'd view any revamp of the onboard fare as a positive step.
But it's all in the details I guess, of which we have few at this point.

Don't worry.
The food for Y is being revamped but most of us will never get to try it as AC will not cater the flights properly, so unless you're in the first 6 rows of Y, choices will be sold out as they usually are...

Shouldn't these posts be moved here instead, perhaps? Air Canada Meals for International Economy Class Customers

AC can get a chef for Y meals, but just like the Hawksworth dishes, the issue isn’t on the chef, it’s on the catering company, galley FAs, and budget. As long as the budget remains the same and catering companies and FAs can’t properly follow the instructions, things won’t improve much.

I'm not an oracle, but I highly doubt they're going to start at any point in the next 5 years.

If we're arguing about serving everyone in Y a meal on domestic / transborder, that's an entirely different discussion. Well aware that AC pulled that away, but It doesn't mean they haven't had food, particularly hot meals available in Y for purchase.
And at that --- my comment remains. They never would cater enough of the hot meals for Y and would always run out if you were in the back half of the plane.

So you're telling me that BOB (aka, buy food in Y) isn't food?
