As of July 2022, MLLs appear to be largely back to normal operations.

Ordering to the table has been shut down, with most MLLs offering self-serve buffets similar to what was available pre-COVID.

Note that the EWR MLL has been permanently shut down as a result of changes/construction at EWR.

Showers
YYZ int - closed (Aug 12. They claimed all showers closed at YYZ but I was only at int.)
YVR tb - open
YVR int - open
YUL int - open

Most points already listed...I'm not sure how often there are lines at the cafe vs. YVR, the steps add what...1 min? The kicker is the line-up, which depending on time of day can be 0 or it can be long...once there was no line but it took 3 minutes for a staff member to come assist me (not complaining about staffing levels here, just pointing out the time it can take).

No the YVR Domestic isn't like that, this photo explains it best, almost everything is behind the rope/barriers.

There's a one set of coffee machines behind me, in this photo that is self serve along with Bottled Water.
Everything else is still line-up or, alatable order.

There's a one set of coffee machine behind the ropes, towards the left. (Not in photo)
Cold foods are hidden in the fridge behind the today's snack menu.
Non-Alcoholic Drinks are in the fridge on the right side of this photo.
And towards the right of the Non-Alcoholic drinks, are where all the boozes are.

This simply falls back to the point YVR Domestic isn't big enough, especially during Peak times.

The Hawksworth risotto balls were really good in the YVR Dom MLL today. Tasty, great texture and the dip had a bit of zip.

The Bailey's and Lindt thing is still in play here too.

Very happy to be back in the AC cafe today

No agents, access is all electronic. Food similar to MLL grab and go

This was in an AC for business email:

All Maple Leaf Lounges Now Open

With the recent reopening of our Maple Leaf LoungesTM at New York’s La Guardia and Frankfurt, as well as the Toronto Transborder Maple Leaf Lounge, all our Maple Leaf Lounges have now reopened.
So EWR is definitely dead.

How does this work with electronic access to prevent un-authorized passengers entering, or authorized passengers bringing in multiple guests, or even clearing out much of the offerings to hand out to friends/family or consume onboard?

There must be someone around, since:

1. Sometimes equipment stops working
2. People might have questions about their flights
3. Are they no longer checking proof of vaccine when you enter the lounge?
4. The things you mention

My assumption would be that no human is required for entry, but there would be one or two present.

There was someone around yesterday for my STPA guest to get entry since his boarding pass didn't allow him automatic entry...is that because AC Cafe != MLL?

AC now operates from A2 gates in EWR, there is a United club there. Who knows if AC will still operate a lounge once new Terminal A opens or share with UA.

The theory is you can use the turnstiles so at least some of the eligible passengers can just scanned themselves without being gummed up in a queue.

How many of us have been in this situation?
Stuck in line at YYZ Domestic waiting to scan ourselves in because the agents are tied down on fixing flight problem for other guest?

*Now a smart lounge agent might have 2 computers open, so you can squeeze by these folks and scanned yourself in anyway in the next computer.
But again, not everyone is THAT well-travelled

*I say this photo of the TK IST lounge explains it best.

If you have no question, just scan yourself in.
If you have a flight problem, or beep red at the turnstile, go to the agents.
The agents have a back button to let you in.

As for the food pillaging, oh please, I've been questioned of taking empty lounge photos.
All those grab-n-go fridges don't refill themselves, at least not yet LOL
You don't think the ladies stocking the F&B will stop you if a guest went too far?

Too Far = More than 1 Bottle of Water + 1 Cup of other Beverage + 1 Cookie

canadiancow, I like the question of #3.
Personally I haven't been asked at the lounge entrance since i've stopped by the counter for my "ADOC" lately.

Would that be a fair assumption?
Have a "ADOC" bp means no need for a vaccine passport check at the lounge?

That was my experience. And I was told so by multiple agents. Consistent across the network.

Except when I was at YOW on Dec 12 apparently, the agent at the MLL asked for my proof of vaccination. I did ask if they still need to see it even if it was checked by the check-in agent, and she said yes. ADOC was on my boarding pass.

At the YYC and YYZ DOM MLL, I was not asked.
