Has anyone confirmed if the 25k MM miles are AQM? Sounds like only 4500 are AQM.

I'm currently SE around 40k miles YTD. What is the benefit of reaching 100k this year (if still possible) if status is extended to end of next year? Are they making the earning period for 2022 2 entire years or is that wishful thinking? I'm fully stocked on flight passes but trying to figure if there is any benefit to worrying about 100k for 2020.

They changed the terms to indicate they are not AQM. I suspect some battles over that point.

If you hit 100k AQM, you get eUps. If you also hit the AQD, you can gift SE status to someone else next year.

Thanks. 250k AMEX points $2500 vs. the spend for those 25k miles which is thousands. That is interesting on the SE gifting, may be tough this year since it seems half the year will be a wipe-out. I assume that if you hit the AQD and give status away that you keep the Eups.

Details are here... technically this was part of the COVID update (extending status for next year amd not part of the 'Travel at Home" promo.

  • Share Altitude status with your loved ones.

When you and those closest to you take to the skies once again, we want you to be able to share your special privileges. If you have already achieved Altitude status for next year, or if you do so by the end of 2020, you can gift that status to a friend or loved one. We'll provide more details about how to share status for 2021 later this year.

Examples: If you earned Elite 35K status for 2020, you'll keep that status through the end of 2021.
  • Based on your 2020 flight activities, if you earn at least 25,000 AQM (or 25 AQS) and 3,000 AQD, you'll be able to nominate a friend or a family member for Prestige 25K status in 2021.
  • Based on your 2020 flight activities, if you earn at least 35,000 AQM (or 35 AQS) and 4,000 AQD, both you and a friend or family member you choose will enjoy Elite 35K status for 2021.
  • Alternatively, based on your 2020 flight activities, if you earn at least 50,000 AQM (or 50 AQS) and 6,000 AQD, both you and a friend or family member you choose will enjoy Elite 50K status for 2021.
  • However, based on your 2020 flight activities, if you do not earn at least 25,000 AQM (or 25 AQS) and 3,000 AQD, you will not be able to nominate a friend or a family member for a status in 2021.

Is it really worth it to transfer my hotel points into Aeroplan now when there is no % bonus being offered? I usually wait for the 35% bonus offers that come a few times a year

As an Altitude 100K (SE) member, let us say that I transfer 250,000 miles from appropriate VISA or AMEX (either manually or automatically), will I get the 25,000 Bonus Aeroplan miles that count towards Million Miles Status?

So I transfer 250,000 Visa or AMEX points (as a SE) to my Aeroplan account. I now get an additional 25,000 credit towards my MM account.

I presume I will also then get 25,000 AQMs for this year, for this transfer.

Would these 25,000 additional AQMs count towards my final AQM total for 2020, in terms of gifting status to someone for the year 2021?

@FlyerGoldII

No AQM as stated in the T&C - which is linked in the wiki, linked and screen shot in post 182:

"Altitude Super Elite 100K and Elite 75K Status Members who earn 250,000 Aeroplan Miles during this Offer and registered will receive 25,000 Bonus Aeroplan Miles (Non Altitude Qualifying Miles) that count toward Million Miles recognition."
