Is anyone actually flying AC domestic or international in these Covid-filled days?

This thread originally contained any and all information relating to flying with AC in the times of COVID. As travel has picked up, much of the discussion has been moved to dedicated threads to make topics easier to follow. Threads that may be of particular interest to those travelling during COVID:

Meal threads:
Schedule changes/refunds - temporary COVID-related policies:
The above threads are in the process of winding down as AC moves away from temporary COVID-related policies. Most questions on schedule changes/refunds should be directed to the thread on AC's new permanent schedule change policies

Other AC-related threads:

Pre-travel e-mails:

Information on immigration rules and procedures, and other government requirements, from the Canada forum:
Airport-related threads containing information that may be relevant to AC passengers, but that are not specific to AC (there are many others in the Canada forum; these are a few that have come up frequently):
(Other threads with immigration/government-related questions not specific to AC can be found on the Canada forum, and experiences and questions on those topics should be posted there)

Updated movies on the A220 but not the 737 Max?

Aside from the inconsistency in menu offerings, has anyone else noted that there are new movies for April on the A220 but not on the 737 Max?

Perhaps I am unlucky and it is just a few specific aircraft, but it would be nice to finish watching Nomadland after seeing the Academy Awards it won. Now its May and the 737 Maxes still havent had new content uploaded.

Anyone know if the wide bodies have been updated, and is there a technical reason that makes the A220s easier to update compared to the 737 Max?

Unless the 220 has something incredible, it was always plane by plane, with the newer IFEs being easier to update.

My ideal scenario would be the ability to update on the shortest turn via WiFi, but I don't think we're there yet.

AC138 (May 2021) from YYC to YYZ operated by B788. Menu
As reported above, plates are back. Cheese is back too. Main was nothing to write home about (sorry it's covered).

Yes it is - Getting tired of this one as well. They changed the crackers from the Carr's, aside from that it has been predictable.
My strategy is to put the almonds and crackers in with the salad, and smash with fork and knife, emulating some level of a "bread crumb" effect
Which then requires 2 glass's of wine with the signature "air canada pour"

Didn't ask, but it wasn't on the menu so I presume not.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that plated meals cost AC less than boxed. Obviously bringing back old service is a positive though, because the factor affecting COVID spread is the amount of time with masks off, not whether the food is served on plastic or ceramic.

Nothing to write home about > inedible, so big thumbs up there. Really looking to my YYZ-LAX flight next month (first in nearly a year), will definitely post about that.

Yes, this was stated by AC last year. (Well, I think they phrased it as the boxed meals cost more than the plated ones, but same thing )

Given the article in the second pic, is the food label meant to mean "Day after Monday" or "Kill." ?

In response to your question...

Unless this is a new guideline that I am unaware of, I don't believe AC has been limiting baggage in the cabin. The last time I flew was in early January 2021, and they were not enforcing any restrictions like this.
Just to confirm as this caught my eye as well on my flight from YYZ-EWR this Sunday: Assume there is nothing to see here, I can still bring my usual AC-compliant rollerboard as planned?

I didn't see much AC at YYZ specifics up thread - I assume Super Elite / Nexus / Business Class should function in roughly the same amount of time as pre-covid on a Sunday morning?

First flight in 15 months, I feel like a newbie again

Is anyone actually flying AC domestic ... in these Covid-filled days?

Yes.

Just returned form the most recent series of transcon flights.

Based on my experiences, @Hypastyla was clearly the winner among recent domestic food offerings.

No and one guy in front of me couldn't understand why no ice, no mixed drinks and no coffee creamers - for which I have a story with multiple choice answers. Same multiple choice format applied to the Bottle of Bottega Bubbles.

If you have an AC at YYZ specific question, I can try and give you an AC at YYZ specific answer.

Yup, when I have time to gather up the various planeporn and other sundry items, like food.

.
It was:

1. Is the duration it will take me to get from the curb to the gate, on a Sunday morning, roughly the same as pre-covid? (Super Elite, w/ Global Entry, flying business)? AC is recommending 3 hours early for flights before 10am. " For departures before 10 am, wait times are longer than usual at U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Canadian Air Transport Security Association (CATSA) pre-board screening. You should arrive at the airport three (3) hours before your flight's scheduled departure time. Pre-board security screening for departures to the U.S. opens at 4:00 AM."

2. AC specific, Not YYZ specific, but my flight reminder email says the following, "If you are planning on checking in bags, ensure you follow the guidelines and pack as much as you can in those bags, as a minimum cabin baggage allowance will be enforced.".... but seems like just business as usual with carry-ons vs. checked luggage?

Thanks!
