Similar to a prisoner being released from prison, and then "pining" for prison food.

This is why:
@RangerNS posted this in the Summary of North America Executive class meal service thread:
RN001, with service from kitchen to home office had a suspiciously recycled breakfast this morning.

I posted that the fine folks over on the BA forum had a hilarious thread Stay-at-home Taskmaster : recreate a BA meal where you can see in the photos posted, they had a lot of fun and put a lot of effort into recreating BA meals (including making fun of the food and service). Epic thread.
I assumed the creative talents on AC FT would do similar so RangerNS started this thread.
So, it's less about the AC Meals than about whether AC FT has the patience and creativity to create their own versions at home, perhaps along with the appropriate critique.

The GF was impressed by, and did a credible job recreating, the MLL orzo salad. Actually, I ate hers before any in the lounge.
That isn't bad at all. Or the MLL original.
And for the first time since pickles were retired, last week I got edamame with a sushi order.

Recreated the MLL hummus and chips.
Procure Normal hummus from the grocery store and add some pepper and extremely finely diced jalapeos.
Procure cheap Tortilla chips, then punch the bag repeatedly for 75 seconds ensuring there is no chip in one piece that is greater than 1 inch in surface area, and there you are.

And here is my creation... its a Doubletree cookie, but maybe it can serve as a cross between the chocolate chip cookie and the oatmeal cookie that AC had in the beginning?

In today's episode of "Social-distancing with Chocolate".......
I was reminded of the AC chocolate cherry cake dessert on an AC TPE-YVR some time ago.
In J it was a decadent slice

In PE on the same flight, it was this format

So while everyone was busy this morning buying Aeroplan miles at 10am ET - or trying to get the purchase to go through - I opted for doing this instead....

I once made these with frosting, but I think next time, I will do a ganache and use cherries to try and get as close to the original as possible.

Air Canada In-Flight Recipes
Post your recipes in this thread! We would love to see AC focused recipes, similar to what you receive on a typical AC flight.

Given that we've already done an airline meal inspired dinner party in the past, I may have to troll through the collection of in-service photos in this forum and figure out if we Ms. Boh can replicate them.
The goal would be to mirror the appearance of course, not the actual taste, texture or revulsion factor.

So I have both succeeded and failed in this task.....
I created the perfect texture, taste and look of the daytime YYZ to LHR economy breakfast. I found a yellow tire, cut a small disc out, smothered it with oil, folded it in half and covered it with some nuked cottage cheese and "ground beef" (aka Basics Value Mince). Placed it into a microwave container, and added cling film and a label of ingredients, calories and "Made in Germany" stamped on it.........
I would have taken a picture, but after I had inadvertently overdone the omelette by leaving it in the oven for MORE than two hours, the Fire Marshall wouldn't let me back into the house to take a picture.......
Happy memories........

I took up the challenge......since it's breakfast-time somewhere.......
......or in AC's case, we're going to replace the formerly nice TPAC late-afternoon pre-arrival stir fry rice and similar with the "less costly" breakfast/brunch. AC's industrial omelettes are famous

I finally bought some fresh parsley 🌿 and decided it would be a good time to create a version of AC's parsley omelette.
Pro-tip from grandma: add a little bit of cream or milk. Makes for a fluffier omelette.

For those of you just driving by this thread and don't understand its purpose......
