This particular captain appears to be flying cargo nets.

Noticed this page on Air Canada Cargo.

I find cargo logistics to be fascinating. Just because.

AC increases cargo capacity through YVR for the rest of November.

https://www.bnnbloomberg.ca/air-canada-increases-cargo-capacity-to-vancouver-after-flooding-cuts-highways-1.1685558

The airline says it has increased capacity to the city between Nov. 21 and 30 from its hubs in Toronto, Montreal and Calgary.

Air Canada says it is rescheduling 28 passenger flights to use larger wide-body aircraft instead of narrow-body ones to increase cargo capacity.

It is also adding 13 all-cargo flights.

In total, Air Canada says it is adding 586 tonnes of cargo capacity.

Air Canada had also increased the number of seats available for customers in Kelowna and Kamloops since Nov. 17 by using larger aircraft on the routes.

I see that all the cargo flights start with 7xxx but this one threw me AC2317 from YVR-SIN. Cargo or test flight for future service now that SIN is trying to be a bigger star hub? (Crossing fingers)

C-GHLV has been flying back and forth between YUL and YYZ supposedly doing crew training. Is it the first converted freighter or was it just pulled out of the desert to do training?

No, it hasn't been converted. It's being used for crew training. The first conversions are ex-mainline aircraft.

Wasn't sure if this should go in this thread or the 767-300 thread, but either way..

AC's first converted 767-300F (C-FPCA) had it's first flight on Dec 1st. Still in the old livery, hope it gets a visit to the paint shop prior to entering service.

It should likely be painted into the new livery (I would think).

What I don’t understand is why they chose such an old frame to convert. I get that they can fly a long time, and it’s fully owned, but at almost 33 years old, how long would it be expected to fly?

You beat me to it, was just about to post the same! AC2355 SNN-YYZ arriving tonight around 1015 EST.

AC Twitter just posted a cool timelapse video showing the conversion work.

The fact they painted the new cargo door to match the old livery is not a good sign!!!

Age is only a minor consideration. What's more important is cycle count and flight hours
