Costco.ca ending Aeroplan points

From Aeroplan website. Too bad as used to earn some miles that way. Oh well, debating let my Costco membership expire anyway.

Partnership Update: As of April 30, 2020 Aeroplan miles will no longer be offered for purchases on Costco.ca, however Aeroplan members still have the opportunity to redeem Miles for Costco gift cards on aeroplan.com.

Probably due to AC launching new loyalty program in 2020?

Costco had announced this a while back.

I didn't even know that was a thing. I only joined a Costco last year and never saw that advertised.

it is only for online purchases. and they used to have promos, now they don't even advertise it on their website.

If you still want points.... at the checkout page, enter coupon code AEROPLAN

you'll know it worked when your total drops by a penny.

You need to register your aeroplan number to your Costco account first. You can do that here: https://www.costco.ca/aeroplan.html

So did Costco dump Aeroplan, or did Aeroplan dump Costco?

Costco has a history of trying to leverage their buying power. It seems to me they went head to head with the credit card companies over swipe fees a year or two ago.
