Feature Requests / Bug Reports
  • More direct links to partner airline "manage booking" pages
  • For points bookings, show how many points were used
  • Sometimes when you have UN segments, it doesn't show the entire PNR
  • How about a one tool using the other: PNR lookup tool could show R space available Y/N if pax isn't already upgraded.
  • Can seat # be a clickable link to carrier manage booking/seat?
  • Display ticket create date/time, helpful to know when reticketed due to schedule change.

Any change in Amadeus that is a schedule change will push the segments to TK status. This in itself is fine.

The annoying thing is AC currently has not implemented a button to present you the changes and let you accept them (and move status back to HK). I suspect this is on their list. I suspect they also want to be able to allow the website to help you re-book flights with schedule changes that meet certain thresholds without having to call in. Amadeus web services make it much easier to implement these things, but AC still has to do the integration work.

Thankfully it's not very difficult to get an Amadeus API key - I have one that I'm using for a flight search program that will be FLOSS when it's ready and signup to get a key was super easy.

I wouldn't want to be responsible for pushing you over the free key limit.

I promise not to ask dumb questions. Or not more than 10 minutes worth. Throw it over the wall

LOL. If the entire forum starts doing this this may actually become an issue

When it's in a reasonable state, I will It started out as a simple script to do searches, and now it's at the point that I'm implementing database models so that I don't repeat pagination on results and can also do comparisons on itinerary options, but I basically had to gut all the parsing to work with a proper data model instead of futzing with XML results in ram.
If you have further questions (and imo there are no dumb ones, ask away) feel free to PM me, as I don't want to derail the thread.

This is a great idea, thanks for making this cow!

I don't know if anyone else is having this issue but when I click on the link in chrome I get "An error occurred. Check your input and try again".

You need to put in your own booking reference and last name

Yes! Thanks for doing this cow!

I put my next flight booking into the link where you said to put it but it tells me I am missing an authentication token.

I made some improvements based on what I had planned to do anyway (a simple form for submitting the two values), and based on some feedback here ("What the heck does RBD mean?").

It will now tell you what your segment status codes mean. So far, I've only seen HK, TK, and HL on my bookings though, so it's harder to test the rest.

This is a great tool, especially with all the schedule changes that seem to be happening lately. I booked an aeroplan flight for my father out west so this will help me keep an eye out for him. Thanks canadiancow .

Thanks for putting this together! I'm getting an error, but I suspect it's related to what I posted over in the complaints thread...

We got a couple of itineraries that give an error. But the issue must be with AC. Part already flown had to be reissued by another airline, and on the Air Canada site, the remainder of these itineraries now shows with the other airline ticket number... On the saudia site using the other airline ticket number, it shows the legs changed and flown only but not the return. Which it does show with the original 014 number.

Thanks for creating the app, and thanks for letting us know that Amadeus has an API. It turns out Amadeus does much more than airline ticketing and reservation. I can think of a few very helpful apps that are quick to implement.
