AC 420 YYZ-YUL 25 Jan 2020 - Delayed due wx
 

Sitting on the bus at a remote locn at YYZ at this time. Pushed back more or less on time but taxied to this spot and shut down. Was supposed to start engines 35 minutes later, but then an hour was added to that. Capt has been quite good at making announcements and crew has been handing out free ear buds and granola bars, as well as making regular water runs throughout the cabin. Mood is surprisingly good amongst the pax, but I don't think I'm getting back to YYG tonight.

If only they had let you off to take the nonstop.

The best part is that three of us came off AC420 and hustled to the gate to try to catch 8549, which began to push just as we arrived. They wouldn’t hold the plane for 5 minutes, despite knowing we had landed and that 8549 was the last flight to YYG that day. In addition, two days earlier between YUL and YYZ, which had 32(!) direct and 7 connecting flights that day alone, we were held at the gate in YUL for 45 minutes due to some connecting pax that were delayed in customs. I would find it hard to believe that most of those folks had other connections in YYZ to catch, given that YUL has a good collection of flights. AC, of course, blamed weather and washed their hands of us after re-booking us on a flight out the next day (today). I’ll be writing them a nice, factual letter but I won’t be holding my breath.

Anyone have the real reason that 412 was cancelled today? AC says due to "airplane maintenance", I fly the 412 in 7 days to kick off a mRTW, really hoping for no delays...

Which in Expert Flyer is simply summarized as "DELAY 00".

There seems to be various "DELAY" codes that must map to something. The question is what.

We (for now) don't seem to get better descriptions in EF since Amadeus, maybe that will change with DCS migration.
