Reminds me of a time I was peed on in Y onboard AC.

And your experience in Y doesn't sound good either.

I'm surprised she wasn't banned for damaging a seat cushion. They're giving her money? They should send her a bill for the cleaning. And imagine the pax next to her! (S)he deserves compensation for having to deal with the smell, not the perpetrator.

Dunno what her circumstances are. I'm sure she was.visiting the lav every ten minutes... Before offloading she took her MLL pickle juice and dumped it

I cannot understand why the crew member thought it was better to humiliate this passenger and affect all those around her on a 7-hour flight than to bend a rule requiring passengers to remain seated during a 2-hour ground hold to allow her to use the lav. I understand there are rules but is there no room for compassion or good old fashioned common sense anymore?

I've been on several lengthy ground holds and never seen FA's refuse to allow people to use the lav's. I assume that the crew were expecting imminent clearance but for whatever reason that didn't happen. The joys of rouge.
One more reason to remind yourself to make use of the washrooms in the terminal/lounge prior to boarding.

Or not. This particular incident doesn’t seem to afford the same opportunities for obfuscation as others. Probably explains the compensation.
At this point, just hope they changed the cushion.

She also complained to the airline when she found out that another passenger had been allowed to use the bathroom during the delay.
Taken from another article here https://www.thesun.co.uk/travel/1003...r-pee-loo-ban/ which confusingly states the flight was DUB-YYZ.
I assume EU, Canadian, and Columbian laws apply here?

Although this seemed to have occurred prior to the 'new' APPR rules (which our wonderful Canadian carriers are challenging), maybe this is one of the reasons we now have this language:
Apparently common sense, at least as it applies to carriers, needed to be legislated. Maybe this is one example of why.
During all tarmac delays carriers must ensure passengers are given the following, free of charge:
- access to working washrooms;
- proper ventilation and heating or cooling;
- food and drink in reasonable quantities; and
- ways to communicate with people outside the plane, where feasible.

Vile airline, really hope I never have to set foot on it. Honestly, as an occasional lurker here I just get the impression Air Canada is truly awful. I advise friends in Europe to avoid them like the plague.
