Booking class&luggage with miles

Booking class&luggage with miles
Hi,
Firstly apologies if this isn't the right place to ask - I'm new to this and feel free to move to where-ever is appropriate
I am looking to fly YYZ-YVR one-way in October. Booked via United miles it will be 12.5K miles and about £35.
My question is what booking class does a redemption fall into for economy? I don't have enough miles to book it yet so i don't seem to be able to get far enough into the booking process - I need to know if we'll get any checked luggage allowance or if we'll have to pay for a case or two each as we're in Canada for almost a month!
