Advice Request: CDG-YVR-LAX - where will I process through US Customs?

Hello - traveling later this month CDG-YVR on AC/J, transferring to UA/F for YVR-LAX. U.S. citizen, but no Global Entry. Any insights on where I will process through US Customs/Immigration? Suggestions or recommendations much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

YVR is a preclearance airport. You will clear US customs prior to departing YVR.

YVR connections are really easy.

On Air Canada's website, there is this page

Connecting through Vancouver Int'l Airport

https://www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/...t-airport.html

Select From an International Flight to the U.S.

I might have to switch from Alaska's FF program to AC's, just so I can take advantage of 24left's wisdom.

@Nitehawk is correct and you pre-clear in YVR.

On my frequent flights back from Asia, I regularly connect via YVR. Aside from being a beautiful airport (especially when departing), I find the process works well and it's also great that there are many volunteers stationed at various points especially for those transferring. Signage is also excellent.

Safe travels and drop by any time.
