Google says Irish embassy is permanently closed.
My preference is downtown / old Montreal so I can leave car parked at work.
I'd also like if we can get some estimated times?

Google is correct. Irish Embassy burned down a few years ago and they never reopened. If you want an Irish pub alternative close by you can try McKibbons, also on Bishop street.

I was at Irish Embassy in 2017 with a bunch of FTers... if it burned down then it had to be after that!

Sometime with local knowledge feel free to set the location. I don't care where it is as long as it's reasonable.
I'll probably be having dinner around 6 so will definitely be free for this by 8, if not sooner.

I'm probably not attending this Do, but per Google Maps the Irish Embassy Pub in Montreal is "permanently closed".
May I suggest Les 3 Brasseurs as an alternate?

The Irish Embassy fire was March 24, 2018. When I said a “few years” ago I misspoke, it just seems that long! It was 2 minutes walk from my office and it used to be one of my regular places, now we usually go to McKibbins on Bishop instead. There are lots of other alternatives in the area:
-Bier Markt on Rene Levesque is a bit more upscale
-Hurley’s Irish Pub on Crescent is classic Irish pub
-Ye Olde Orchard on de la Montagne
-Brutopia on Crescent brews beer on site, more student crowd.
and lots more, it just depends on the kind of place you want. Friday evening in that area could be a bit busy.

@SparseFlyer wanted downtown / old Montreal, and I'm very agnostic when it comes to location. I will be taking an Uber regardless.
The name "Bier Markt" sounds good to me though

Yes. Montreal Pool Room as well.
@CC, OK with bier mrkt, but frankly unsure how busy it'll be on a Friday night.
How long are people going to be there for anyways? You flying out same day?

Wow, I went just after Valentine’s last year, didn’t realize it had burnt down.
Ye Olde Orchard is a good alternative. McKibbon’s will likely be full of Concordia students, which is usually a good thing, but they’re not exactly Palo Alto-caliber
There’s also Le Vieux Dublin a little further east still within the downtown core (and far enough from Cleopatra’s to avoid cross-contamination)
