It's because of the Max. LH is running AC flight's for the month.

No, these are regular LH flights.

If some of them have been added to cover for AC's lack of capacity, perhaps AC would let someone with a confirmed upgrade keep it, but I wouldn't expect to be able to do a new eUp, bid-up, etc.

Was AC going to use a 737 Max on this route?
I don't think I've ever seen a narrow-body plane on this route, and I sure hope not to see one any time soon.

No, but it frees up a 789. AC having trouble keeping capacity on domestic trunks for peak summer seasonal; they are having to redeploy the rouge 763s. They have largely avoided having to use rouge on YVR-YYZ but that is not the case for YYC-YYZ, YVR-YUL or YYC-YUL.

By now, AC had intended to be operating 36 7M8s. I'm actually really impressed how they've been able to recover despite now having to take a rouge flight this summer.

No this is a heavy route covered by at least 2 wide-bodies ... AC + LH in regular times ... so right now it's 2 x LH ...

im surprised AC does not take its 787 off of SFO, unless its a great freight route?

Given the cancellations on that route that would normally be operated by the 7M8, they need the capacity. It's been quite full every time I and my friends have flown it since the grounding.

They got a little extra help by Calgary/Toronto/Winnipeg losing in the first round. Freed up a couple of aircraft.
