How were you able to book this? Multi city?

On a one-way booking, stopovers aren't permitted, so unless there's an outbound or return leg that wasn't shared, it can't be booked as multi-city. LGA and JFK are co-terminals, so that's actually a legal connection on a one-way ticket. But would have to be booked by phone - the website definitely wouldn't spit that out for a SYD-YYZ search.

I find EF to be more reliable than Aeroplan, but only barely, so I'm also curious if there's a better source.

Yeah I'd love to hear. I usually use UA's site for finding non-stop availability since it's so much better, but that obv. won't work for Etihad. AA is SLIGHTLY better than AP, but still not great. It DOES have non-stop availability calendar search, at least!

EDIT: nvm, AA has whacky married segment logic and won't work properly. E.g. BWI-LHR-AUH is available with LHR-AUH on Etihad, but LHR-AUH non-stop is NOT available. Disregard AA's site...

Take your EY confirmation and download the Etihad mobile app. You can select when you go in through there

Just called and they said they've been inundated with calls on this routing (JFK-AUH-SYD) since yesterday. It is now not a valid routing and they will not book it.

Maybe they should tell the other agents, then?

Be careful. I was told today, on an unrelated matter, that they're allowed to retroactively change routing rules on you, thereby invalidating any bookings.

Just booked? It doesn't make sense that it would be invalid as the routing is less than the MPM.
