On a one-way booking, stopovers aren't permitted, so unless there's an outbound or return leg that wasn't shared, it can't be booked as multi-city. LGA and JFK are co-terminals, so that's actually a legal connection on a one-way ticket. But would have to be booked by phone - the website definitely wouldn't spit that out for a SYD-YYZ search.

EDIT: nvm, AA has whacky married segment logic and won't work properly. E.g. BWI-LHR-AUH is available with LHR-AUH on Etihad, but LHR-AUH non-stop is NOT available. Disregard AA's site...

Be careful. I was told today, on an unrelated matter, that they're allowed to retroactively change routing rules on you, thereby invalidating any bookings.
