April 18, 2019, YYT-YYZ, AC 1571, is there J?
Hi!
Flying YYT-YYZ on April 18, on AC1571 in Latitude fare.
This used to be a 737-Max 8, but it has been changed with a A321 Rouge.
Website and AC Res says there is no J class. What type of A321 Rouge does not have business class? Thoughts?

If you comb through this thread, you'll see it looks like the new WOW 321s may be put in all-Y service for a few months: Iceland's WOW air sells four A321ceo to Air Canada

Looks like Rouge is operating AC 1570/1571 from April 17-30. Likely filling in for the 7M8 but hopefully not a foreshadowing of what is to come in future years. All of these rouge substitutions on mainline trunk routes are definitely a way of testing the waters

This is the scary part.....from a few planes in a leisure market to a whole bunch more planes in a leisure market to even more planes on regular domestic routes!
...the spread continues .....

Recently YYT has seen Q400s to YHZ (from E90 and others), the rouging of YUL (E75 to 319), the cancelling (temporarily hopefully) of LHR, consolidation of YYZ flights due to max upguage (cancelled late night arrival) now these Wow birds... not a great streak with AC lately!

I am not sure what the mindset of those making these temporary decisions while the maxipad planes are grounded. If he or she is any good, they may look at some of these temporary changes to test out new configurations and route changes. This unforeseen (no conspiracy theories here please) situation provides real leadership challenges and those worth their weight can seize the opportunity to pursue opportunities for better efficiency and or customer service in the name of efficiency.
For most execs its crises management and that mindset, for others, they see this as an opportunity to improve, learn, lead.
