They kicked us out of the secure breezeway between D and E back landslide, and now the E security is closed and it is a cluster $&^* with no information forthcoming.

I’m assuming they are going to hold flights because nobody is going anywhere.

Well, AC is not having a good week

Quote:
Update Toronto Pearson Airport says “all International and US aircraft at Terminal 1 are currently holding at their gates.“ Fire services working to clear the terminal of smoke."

It's a zoo here... no one going anywhere, as security check points are all still closed.

And it smells like burgers, worse case scenario with landside options....

Dominoes falling...

"All flights to the U.S. scheduled to depart from Terminal 1 have been cancelled. For passengers scheduled to travel to the U.S. out of Terminal 1 tonight or tomorrow, please contact your airline before leaving for the airport."

A lot of unhappy vacationers around here, and "fairly happy to not have to travel" businesspeople.

Air Canada has now posted Travel Alerts for Pearson for today *and* tomorrow.

I am so happy I'm not travelling this week.

I am so it should be interesting to see AC crisis management in action.

That said.....

"inbound flights to Toronto Pearson Airport Terminal 1 International are being parked at the deicing facility while emergency services deal with the fire. There are ~12 flights parked right now. Baggage for earlier arrivals is also being held."

Per Pearson twitter: "While the fire in Terminal 1 is extinguished, emergency responders are in the process of ensuring the terminal is safe for re-entry. For inbound passengers currently waiting on the tarmac, we appreciate your patience as we ensure the terminal is safe for travellers and employees."
