necessary tribute, but can’t wait for the day when this is the longer necessary because we treat everyone with respect without the need to attach labels or categories.
That day has come for me.

Only 5 women of 24 Execs (20%)

And on the Board, only slightly better
Only 3 women of 11 members (24%)
A very wise person once suggested to me that you need more than just gender-diversity on boards to run a successful company. AC seems to be doing okay at not having a board full of "old white men", but "old white people" isn't that much better.

As a person who's been lucky enough to work with some very strong, capable women in male-dominated industries (aviation and firefighting), I too can't wait until gender is no longer deemed worthy of regard. We're getting there, slowly but surely.

As a 40-something white man, I'm not threatened but excited for the opportunity to benefit from different perspectives. I'm hoping there will still be room for us too.

I think that day came for most of us a long, long time ago. Can't say the same for news media, however, who seem to have no issue doing whatever it takes to attract eyeballs and support the ad dollars.

That's a great video, but I can't help but wonder why such coverage is still necessary. These all-female crew milestones have been attained years ago and women have made inroads to every aspect of aviation as was stated in the piece. Somebody please challenge my male perspective, but isn't the constant coverage counter-intuitive to accepting women as equals? Wouldn't efforts be better directed spending time at schools and colleges actively presenting to, encouraging and recruiting girls and women?

The figure of 4% of airline pilots being female (I've also read 6%) seems low to me. My opinion is merely observationally-based; I spend hundreds of hours on aviation frequencies, and my impression is that a lot more than 6% of the pilots' and controllers' voices are female, except perhaps for some of the Asian carriers.

This smacks of “and on this one day a year we let the ladies fly the plane without any men to watch over what they’re doing”. It’s like AC is trolling itself without realizing.

I’m with Morgan Freeman on these things

Every day is international women’s day for me. And also international men’s day, international transgender people’s day, etc

the sooner all this divisive nonsense ends the better IMO
