No worry, @TheLev, virtually all of the MLL offerings, at least after they have been out for more than a minute, have flakes of skin, snot, and tears in them. All of which could be considered animal products.

Here I am in Air Canada's flagship domestic Maple Leaf Lounge right in the Centre of the Universe and there is practically nothing for me to eat. Sure there's lots of stuff to keep the vegetarians and vegans happyPretzels
I demand that AC do better serving the 90% of us who are carnivorous.
- various breads
- Two salads - both completely devoid of meat
- Huge trays full of edamame
- Hummus and fresh pita
- Salsa and corn chips
- Fresh fruit
- Minestrone soup
- Two kinds of cookies, both vegetarian

Or AC can serve the PE butter chicken meal - that should put you off meat for a little while.

That being said, the food options at MLLs can be all over the board. I've been to YYZ DOM and had a wonderful selection of pasta. OTOH I've been to the INTL YYZ lounge a while back and the menu was like above. I'd be curious to learn how AC makes catering decisions and who their caterers are?
What surprises me the most about the thread is canadiancow liking this complaint. I always thought cows were herbivores

As a proud member of PETA (People for the Eating of Tasty Animals) I tend to go to the Priority Pass lounge if I'm hungry. True - it's merely lounge food but at least there are both veggie and meat options in there.

Ok, include yoghurt, cheese etc that might pacify both vegetarians and the carnivores.
Throw some meat pieces in to the soup.
Include some Morningstar chicken nuggets and hotdogs ( op may not notice the difference)

Back on topic, if the veggie-friendly offerings are tasty/fresh, that's better than mediocre 'institutional' meat. I'd rather have a solid plate of hummus/salad/fruit than a "school lunch quality" chicken dish.

The horror continues
Five hours later, I'm in the YVR MLL, the western jewel in the crown and it's like a sense of deja vu. The identical two soups, the identical two salads, the same vegetarian cookies. Even the apples are the same. Did they transport it in the hold and rush it up to the lounge before I could get here?
If it weren't for the mountains in the background and the slightly too loud oil workers coming off their 2 week shift, I'd swear it's groundhog day.
