Can I Know This is Ticketed on Air Canada?
I'm planning to travel YYZ - DAR on the way out and JNB - YYZ on the way back.
When I search through Air Canada's site, I can find a nice itinerary for the outbound flight: YYZ - ZRH with Air Canada and ZRH - DAR with Swiss. On the way back, though, I am not being given the option for JNB - ZRH on Swiss and ZRH - YYZ on AC. That return itinerary was available a few days ago, but has since disappeared. However, I can still get it by using Google Flights and then selecting Expedia or FlightNetwork. Anyway, here's my question. If I book the itinerary below, will this all be an Air Canada ticket (014)? How can I know that before I actually purchase it via Expedia? I'd like to get the AQD if possible... https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...af82e5c0bf.png |
Since both of your over-the-water (TATL) flights are operated by AC, it is most likely going to be ticketed on AC with 014 eticket numbers. |
Did a dummy booking, the default VC is AC.
Code:
AL FLGT BK DATE TIME FARE BASIS NVB NVA BG |
@gokeeper - which tool do you use to do that? I'm guessing I am not so privileged to use it ;)

OP, you can also try calling AC and booking over the phone. They should be able to get you the same price and then you don't have all the negatives of having booked through a 3rd party.

Business class cost $6196 for P/Z class, have you tried seg by seg on AC.com? May be you'll have to call in or find a TA if that doesn't work either.

Thanks for your consideration, I am trying to let OP know the price before he give AC a call, I mean the actual one he can get from AC without inventory violation. Sure you can get P on JNB-ZRH-YYZ by booking segment by segment, however...guess that's not a big deal for you. :)

Back to the original question, do I understand correctly that the answer to my question (Will this be ticketed on AC?) is a solid "probably?" Or can I have any assurance? Before booking via Expedia, I'll call AC to see if they can book it for me...

Call AC and tell them the flight numbers and fare code you want. |

I don't understand why you'd post how to get a higher fare |

It isn't for AC/LX either as there is no married seg logic between these carriers. Air Canada's call centre would book it the same manner most likely their systems are very antiquated.
I don't understand why you'd post how to get a higher fare Married segments isn't the only way to do inventory control. TA 101: Always use O&D when looking for availability. PS: I won't post any more reply in this thread since I already answered OP's question and I am busy with my day job :D https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...980718f00f.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...189bf24b2d.png |
