PYUP fares ticketing in R
It seems like AC has begun publishing fares like RKW26NCT/PYUP, which book/ticket in R.
Any idea what miles this would earn?
I've certainly booked "UP" fares on UA before, but they've always booked in a real revenue F/J fare class.

Interesting. How do you book these? If sold as J, clearly they should earn J miles.

Any OTA. Example GF link: https://www.google.com/flights?#flt=...;sc:b;sd:1;t:f
This is from https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/prem...rt-1364-a.html. It's under $1500 r/t for US to Europe.

If this is actually real - I have my doubts, see the other thread on that - I wouldn't be surprised to see it initially credit 0 since R earns no miles, but one would have a clear case for getting the J miles since the fare basis and how it may impact mileage earning is really not transparent to someone purchasing a ticket.

I wonder if they will honor this... got a biz trip coming up and wondering if I should just book something else as I can't jeopardize last min cancellation via AC. Thoughts?

So I completed a booking, lets see if it gets honoured. It shows fare type EC and upgrade status HK when I tried to select seats on AC2U - not sure if that tells anyone smarter than me something.

And then there's the question, is it eligible for Signature Suite at YYZ. It is long haul business technically booked in cash, but it's in an upgrade redemption class with code not eligible for it.

App does not show SS access. Website excludes R class, but I'm definitely going to make an attempt since I paid for it

Unfortunately it's pretty specific regarding eligible booking classes. Nor are we eligible if there is any form of IROPS and we get rebooked. But I fully agree, I will politely try ... if I can find a receipt/invoice that doesn't say "upgraded" or "R" on it!

I still want to know about mileage accumulation.
At 125% it's under 10cpm which is pretty good for J.

All bookings in R (including, but not limited to, eUpgrades, Last-Minute Upgrades, AC Bid Upgrades) and I (including, but not limited to, Aeroplan Fixed Mileage Flight Rewards for travel on Air Canada flights or Star Alliance member airlines, Star Alliance Upgrade Awards), as well as bookings made during irregular operations where the customer was not originally booked and confirmed in one of the eligible booking classes, will be excluded.

Now there are people holding tickets that were sold as business - no upgrade involved (without reading the fare basis) - in R.
The rules are the rules, but this means they're going to have to turn away paid J pax.

I hope anyone who was able to get in on a $1200 RT deal from the US to Europe is not going to get bent out of shape about not being able to use the signature suite at YYZ...that saying about looking a gift horse in the mouth comes to mind...
