FlyerTalk Forums Expert How-Tos and Guides
Last edit by: tcook052
This new annual thread has been carved out of the previous thread in an effort to reduce the number of megathreads on the AC forum. For those interested previous versions are the original 2004 - 2014 thread , 2015 edition, 2016 edition , 2017 edition and 2018 edition.

The original thread started by accident but quickly became a popular place to come and discuss off topic things such as hockey, new movies, or almost anything that wouldn't fit into existing AC forum threads. Air Canada or Aeroplan topics such as flight feedback, in-flight services issues, status or mileage earning/redemption are all topics that should go into existing AC forum threads so others can benefit from this information. Topics about hotels or airlines and/or their loyalty programs, destinations, in-flight travel tech. or anything best discussed elsewhere on FT may be relocated to that forum as this thread isn't meant to import travel topics to this forum that are better discussed on other forums. FT is an amazingly diverse and large community so members are encouraged to seek out all of its resources.

While the conversation is more relaxed as it would be in a lounge that doesn't mean however that the FT rules don't apply here as they definitely do so please refrain from controversial topics such as politics or religion, avoid profanities and treat other lounge patrons with the same respect you expect.

Also glad to see that doucebag Mark Stevens was banned from NBA games for a full year and banned from all GS-related activities. In addition, fined $500K USD (of course, that's chump change for him).
What an idiotic blowsy blowhard. (How dare I!)

I'm still reading up all the articles on it... haven't read anything about exact words yet.
All I've read so far is that Kyle said that the words were "vulgar".

Pushing him is one thing and while inexcusable seems compounded by the verbal abuse. I get that there are some rabid home fans in every venue however it's sad when morons can't extend basic courtesy to the opponent but what do I know as I'm just a polite Canadian.

LOL vulgar. Been to a few EPL games im my misspent youth and the language and chants would make a sailor blush though I have been told that things have somewhat improved. I was in Argentina in Mar and apparently the chants there include a players and opposing supporters sisters, aunts, etc. And some games in multiple soccer leagues require a police escort for visiting players and fans.

I don't know about tbills, but GICs can be redeemable or not. Worst case, you lose the interest. But is going to take a visit to the bank to access.

For walking around money, there are always CC cash advances, but that is more super emergency than 2 weeks notice emergency.

And we all know Cow has a standing offer to go to AC IT.

Doubt he would go to AC IT. He would have to shut down his flyertalk account otherwise he will be the resident tech support for all things AC

I saw that earlier today... got a good chuckle, especially with the two ladies who could barely say "hell".

I'll admit I wasn't overly offended by the shove, but as criticism seems to be swift, severe and universal, I digress. Maybe some good old-fashioned chirping wouldn't been a less expensive approach.

Or maybe Lowry should've gone Tie Domi on him

Tie's fight in the penalty box with the Philly fan? The call of Harry Neale is classic "Kevin Collins, he's broken up fights before but not in the penalty box".

My safety buffer is credit cards with lots of room giving a 30-50 day interest free loan until being paid. By then I can move $ out of less liquid funds to pay them off in full. I guess my secondary backup is any or all of the following: overdraft/ach/wire/checkwriting to an account with margin access.

Barring a ransom situation it would be rare that someone with good credit and paid off credit cards would need 'cash in hours' with a job loss.

Though it wasn't asked, just in case this is a part of a financial review, almost anyone would benefit by reading up on bogleheads.org and these books:
