FlyerTalk Forums Expert How-Tos and Guides
Last edit by: tcook052
This new annual thread has been carved out of the previous thread in an effort to reduce the number of megathreads on the AC forum. For those interested previous versions are the original 2004 - 2014 thread , 2015 edition, 2016 edition , 2017 edition and 2018 edition.

The original thread started by accident but quickly became a popular place to come and discuss off topic things such as hockey, new movies, or almost anything that wouldn't fit into existing AC forum threads. Air Canada or Aeroplan topics such as flight feedback, in-flight services issues, status or mileage earning/redemption are all topics that should go into existing AC forum threads so others can benefit from this information. Topics about hotels or airlines and/or their loyalty programs, destinations, in-flight travel tech. or anything best discussed elsewhere on FT may be relocated to that forum as this thread isn't meant to import travel topics to this forum that are better discussed on other forums. FT is an amazingly diverse and large community so members are encouraged to seek out all of its resources.

While the conversation is more relaxed as it would be in a lounge that doesn't mean however that the FT rules don't apply here as they definitely do so please refrain from controversial topics such as politics or religion, avoid profanities and treat other lounge patrons with the same respect you expect.

$100 is nothing, <$50 tickets are the norm in SE Asia.

At the same time, relative to local incomes flying is probably still less accessible to the local population than it is for us in Canada when we pay $500 for YYZ-YVR.

My California ID expired today.

I forgot to renew it. It was tied to the expiry of my H-1B (which I gave up quite a while ago).

I can't renew online because they need evidence I'm allowed to be here.

And the next DMV appointment was April 15.

So by clicking "refresh" all day, I was able to move it to March 26, and now Feb 5.

What a pain. I miss Ontario

Indeed, since the words “Narita Airport” were on the sign. As for those A350 wings......

Did not know there's a viewing deck at NRT to spot plane porn? Where abouts is it located (i.e. land-side or air-side)? Aside from SIN,ZRH, LAX and now NRT, what other airports offer such spotting opportunities?

Also if it ain't Boeing I'm not going

i discovered this deck on my first visit here 4 years ago landside. This one is in T1

They also have one at HND, also landside

I had posted my series of photo on the FT Japan forum

As for Boeing, you know there is plenty just looking at the collection of ANA, JAL and UA birds to name a few

Ooh, there’s a cute little Air Busan out the window

I went to see a u-boat in Chicago after finishing up with my client. $40 US for an “in-depth experience” where I could nerd out and hang out in a u-boat with a bunch of Cold War submarine vets

Haha I did that a few months back, the U Boat that is. We didn’t do the in depth one, didn’t know about it!

I think the generic tour was part of the museum entry under that see all ticket? IIRC.
