FlyerTalk Forums Expert How-Tos and Guides
Last edit by: tcook052
This new annual thread has been carved out of the previous thread in an effort to reduce the number of megathreads on the AC forum. For those interested previous versions are the original 2004 - 2014 thread , 2015 edition, 2016 edition , 2017 edition and 2018 edition.

The original thread started by accident but quickly became a popular place to come and discuss off topic things such as hockey, new movies, or almost anything that wouldn't fit into existing AC forum threads. Air Canada or Aeroplan topics such as flight feedback, in-flight services issues, status or mileage earning/redemption are all topics that should go into existing AC forum threads so others can benefit from this information. Topics about hotels or airlines and/or their loyalty programs, destinations, in-flight travel tech. or anything best discussed elsewhere on FT may be relocated to that forum as this thread isn't meant to import travel topics to this forum that are better discussed on other forums. FT is an amazingly diverse and large community so members are encouraged to seek out all of its resources.

While the conversation is more relaxed as it would be in a lounge that doesn't mean however that the FT rules don't apply here as they definitely do so please refrain from controversial topics such as politics or religion, avoid profanities and treat other lounge patrons with the same respect you expect.

I thought Canadians were supposed to be nice and polite.
This happened this week.
House league girls soccer U-10 game. Both coaches start brawling. Not the parents thankfully.
Yesterday my friend drives my daughter and his daughter in his BMW which gets clipped by a pickup towing a boat. Pickup driver does the yelling and abusing with F bombs and then says "This is why we should not let people like you into Canada". In Oakville.
Like seriously what is wrong with people.

I have understood this correctly? Pickup causes accident (clipping of BMW) and then plays the race card? That is so sad.

Some people just make me shake my head and wonder.

Also, don't feed the trolls.

Sorry, just had to get that off my chest.

Jays Sanchez sucked again against Yanks losing his 9 straight loses and 13th this season. Yikes!

He barely held it together but it then began to unravel rather quickly.
And a part of me wanted Vladdy Jr. to go yard three times as a follow-up to the derby, but I was daydreaming.

It took approximately 4 years and 3 months, but at least others are now seeing what I saw.
Now, the real question is... can the Raps maintain their winning ways next year with the current team as of today? This includes all the recent signings. We still don't have a "Kawhi" replacement though... do we they need one? If not, who will be stepping up?

Sanchez looked serviceable through the first four innings, which is a big improvement over most of May and June. But when things fell apart, they fell apart badly. He's reminding me of Biagini when they were trying to make him a starter. I think the coach needs to be quicker to pull him when things start going downhill. As long as they don't put Law in his place.

Nice daydreams about Vladdy Jr. though.

I'm a little late in writing this post
But yesterday's return to work kept me quite engrossed
Clearly there should be a poem to wrap up an awesome trip
Since we've returned on AC18 with more champagne to sip

So great to have met FTers @Bohemian1 and @jerryhung along the way
A lot of foodporn and planeporn taken while in Taipei
Service by concierges and crew went above and beyond by far
Travelling w @24left is like travelling with a rockstar!

The stop in YVR allowed me a bonus lunch with my father
So I won't complain about missing 24left's YYZ arrival meet-up with a fellow traveller
Anyway...it's been fun (and a challenge) to rhyme words as a passing fad
I now happily pass the reins of AC FT poet laureate back to @yyznomad

You can't make this stuff up

Unbelievable... Angels honour their #45 for their return home and no-no (combined) the Mariners. Just amazing.

Added: And they did it the day before his birthday, 7/13... first inning 7 hits. Ended the game with 13 runs on 13 hits. Just nuts.

I'm disappointed that the Djoker just broke Federer in the final set, so barring a break back by Fed, Djoker has this one locked... but this is definitely one of those EPIC grand slam finals, especially featuring the top two seeds!

Added: I spoke too soon... Fed breaks back. CRAZY!

More added: Ok, now 6-6 fifth set. And it goes on!
