It's very different though, because high spend doesn't qualify you.
It's more for CEOs of companies that have lots of FF employees. People who can direct VERY large spend.

Would be the equivalent of a representative of a company funneling 20+ SE worth of spending and flying to AC. They'd likely get VIP

I know two. One easily qualifies for SE every year anyway and turns down the concierge escort, the other would not qualify, both are corporate big wigs.

I came across this WSJ article on United's Global Services, and was wondering if there is something similar for Air Canada frequent fliers? The fact that I even have to ask this shows how low on the totem pole I am (hah...), but curiosity got the better of me.

I have heard multiple (and completely unsubstantiated rumors) that *A wants to explore having a 3rd tier - platinum or something of the like. I would expect that if that were to happen many of the *A partners would add a tier in their own FF programs. Of course, they might just say that SE is equal to that tier.

UA has GS, AA has CK, and DL has 360. None of them have published criteria and people on those boards drone on endlessly torturing themselves about what it takes to be awarded that status.
That may well be 90% of the marketing effort. Keep it secretive, alluring, and somehow special.
