A question about the "Lower Requalification Level" select privilege.
If I am E50k and select it as an option, I understand that I will only need 45,000 AQM (and the same AQD) to requalify for E50K next year.
I also see that only 70,000 AQM would be needed (and the same AQD) for E75K.
Does that mean if I choose this select privilege and I hit 70,000 AQM (and the required AQD) I will qualify for E75k next year? OR does this select privilege let you requalify only for the status level that you currently hold? As in, I can only requalify for E50k at a lower AQM (45,000) but I cannot requalify for E75k at a lower AQM (70,000) because I am currently not E75k.
The Air Canada website does not go into this level of detail. Anyone who has experienced this in the past and knows the answer for sure would be greatly appreciated as this will really affect which privileges I choose. Thanks!

An anecdote upthread from someone who did qualifying flights 12/29 for E50 and got swept into E35 last night with the expectation that E50 will still come.
Recommend you make your selections and then call in 2 weeks if you haven’t been re-swept. Might kick out with 2 packages.

It only allows you to requalify for the status you currently hold.

I, too, remember there was an email about it. And there was also a thread about it here, because the wording was not super clear. I believe the general consensus was that lower requalification applies to all eligible tiers, from E50K+.

That's the wording. I guess I thought that was clear.
How about we wordsmith it so that there's no question that it does mean current E50K, E75K or SE can choose to 5K AQM knocked off the requirement for any of those levels, but without using that many words?

Changed required to requalified
I got my bag tags in the mail on Friday. I requalified for E50k with the parental leave benefit (otherwise I would have only been P25k). I was disappointed to see that the bag tags were the same as last year's design. Anybody else receive their tags yet?

Think I might go with this and the 50% bonus aeroplan miles then instead of 20 more eUpgrade credits I'll likely never be able to use due to the standard fares I fly.

If you earned it then I would say *G is worth fighting for.

Yes but the person is saying he/she made the AQD not the AQM.
