For those that track these things, I received my SE package today - made my selections about 3 weeks ago or so. Based in Toronto. Looks largely the same as last year with some very minor mods.

I have 2 trans pacific long haul in PE or J in January/February. Probably won't have a lot of paid long haul after that (although a few awards including to Australia) .
What's the rush? Put off selecting until your year shakes out a bit and you can decide whether you need the lower requalification. I plan to put off selecting until I either know for sure if I need / don't need the AQM, unless I need the eUps, which would force me to move up my decision. The other benefits are retroactive.

Just got swept.

I made SE for the first time! I was able to immediately book some flights I've been waiting for using IKK.
The Lev, SteadyAT and Diabeetus like this.

When you make your selections is irrelevant. My package arrived no later than Wednesday (but possibly much earlier) and I still have not made my selections.

E50K for a friend has diminishing value the longer you leave it.

One of my candidate friends has a UA flight on Sunday, for example. If I give it to him now, it's worth $30 more (bag fee) than if I give it to him on Monday.

Though given I have 92 2020 eUps and 94 2019 eUps (my nominee assures me he can use them!), I think it's unlikely I'll pick the 50 eUps.

Except when the friend is already currently 50k. As in the case of my wife.

I'd argue there's higher value of assigning it to a new person right now

Testing a hypothesis...

For those who have received the tags/card package in the mail, did you re-qualify for SE prior to November 1?

Well, at least your P25K shows during the booking process!
Regular seat, and preferred seats. Both are $$.
Cabin type (L) - Economy standard. YUL - LGA (Sky Regional).

The only status that gets any seating benefit on Standard fares is Super Elite.
