Yes, if the nominee had the same status in the current year, you can't even nominate that person until March 1.

@canadiancow I nominated someone last week. I just checked with them and their app shows E50K status already.

Thanks. I may use this perk, but the first trip would be either late December or early January, so I want to make sure they can actually make use of it.

Hi Folks,

Been a while since I have had status and I crossed 35K last week. Any idea when I will be able to select my privileges and any idea when they kick in? IIRC, the benefit year is Feb 1 to Jan 31?

They do periodic 'sweeps' of everyone's current mileage starting in early December. The next one may be in another week or maybe delayed until the New Year. Don't wait for an email, but check your status on the Altitude site periodically. As soon as the status there changes you're in!

The benefit year is March 1 - Feb 28, but you will likely get a couple of extra months free, when they recognize your new status 'early'.
Congrats & Enjoy!

I was also searching for the thread where last year's package arrivals were posted. In the meantime.......

Mine just arrived.

I like the Personalized Mail stamp again. Classier than the usual plain stamps.

Back side of the mailing envelope.

The cover of the package inside. The left side is very high gloss and picked up the reflection of my phone. lol

This year's letter was signed by Mark Nasr, Vice President, Loyalty and Commerce

(Of course last year's package letter was signed by Benjamin Smith, President, Passenger Airlines)

This years cards and bag tags are all glossy, not matte. I like them much more. (I forgot to wipe the card before the photo, thus some lint)

What I really like is the 1MM circle is glossy silver versus matte silver from last year

Along with the card and tags (still 4 for SE) are a duty free coupon, lounge passes and a privacy notice.

EDIT to add: YES, the metal bag tag rings are back for 2019.

Hopefully not a silly question but I just gotta ask: What's the point of lounge passes? If you already get lounge access and can guest someone in to a * lounge as a AC*Gold what's the point? I don't see other airlines like UA offering such a benefit! What am I missing here?

Safe Travels,

James
