You are asking a lot of the machine that AC uses to track FF status. They already have to feed it the "sweep" punch cards in the middle of the night, when nothing else is running.

In all honesty all airline systems are a hodgepodge of systems designed and built from the original Sabre system in the 60s.

Looks like a sweep was done for last year (well in January 2018) some time between Jan 2 and Jan 5 (and also one on 6th according to one post). . . (mid-week)
Also in 2017, sweep was done sometime Jan 5/6 for 2017-2018 benefit year
Also in 2015, sweep was done Jan 5/6 for 2015-2016 benefit year

(I'd love to know how many different clocks and time zones AC has on its systems. Check-in emails at the wrong time, multiple emails for the same source, but with a time difference.....)
So much white space, LOL

Question re: E75K privileges (+ lowly 25K Prestige status).
With the 35K status for a friend; if given to one family member for the 2018 benefit year (ending Feb 29th, 2019), can it be given to a new / different relative once the magic red button appears to choose privileges? Do the privileges / status become active for the new nominee effective immediately?
With 25K Prestige, does this become active after the next "sweep" as mentioned a few posts up? ie) Potentially first week of January?
Cheers.

I was planning to wait to choose my benefits - but what happens if I buy a flight pass before I do? Will they retroactively give me the benefit I selected, or am I SOL?
The main reason I want to wait is I'm not sure what to pick from the first bundle - the aeroplan bonus, the early requal or the eups. I expect a lot of my standard YYZ-YOW this year, but my travel schedule hasn't really shaken out yet.
